Dukes of Hazzard's General Lee -- Nitrous Oxide?

You mean like this?

How, incidentally, would NO in the General Lee have been “cheating”? They weren’t driving on the NASCAR race circuit, they were running moonshine. What “rules” are there in 'shine running, that would be broken by using nitrous?

Chronos, most street racers I’ve known considered Nitrous to be a “cop-out”, an easy way to temporarily increase power. While non Nos users spend hours tuning their cars to survive and make maximum horsepower, an Nos user could just bolt a system to a basically stock engine and, for short periods of time, get a 50-150 extra hp. An old friend of mine used to compare it to a old west gunfight; you and you opponent are facing each other, ready to draw, and at the last second he slides a derringer out of his sleeve and shoots you. Strangely enough, he changed his mind when he got a good deal on a complete system.

Peace-DESK

It’s also dangerous for the engine and… really changes the handling. Better, generally, to have a car you know how to control.

And who says the boys weren’t racing NASCAR? How do you think NASCAR got started? Junior Johnson et al were shine runners.

Brittany Speares has just been cast as Diasy Duke for the movie re-make.

Some of the original cast will be at Dukefest on 9 August to celebrate the show’s 25th Anniverary (has it really been that long?).

I’m sure the castmembers in attendance would have some…thoughts…on the proposed movie.
