Dulce de leche pie - diabetes and a heart attack rolled into one tasty dessert!

Other side effects: may make you slap your mama.

Take two cans of sweetened, condensed milk. Labels OFF.

Place in a large pot of water. Make sure the water covers the cans.

Boil the unopened cans for two hours. Refill water as needed to maintain can coverage (you do NOT want the cans to dry out. Explosion may result.)

Extract cans, and allow to cool until you can handle them with bare hands.

Open and pour into graham cracker crust. Chill.

Easiest dessert ever, and is absolutely incredibly rich and sweet.

I wonder how this would taste with chocolate crust instead of graham cracker? Pretty amazing, I bet.

(Inspired by my first though, which was: But why would I sully the beauty of this kind of dulce de leche with yucky graham crackers, when I can just eat it with a spoon? Or, better yet, with some vanilla ice cream and bacon. Mmm, caramel and bacon.)

For me, the crust would merely be a delivery device for caramel. I’d just save time and use a spoon instead.

ETA:

By the way, assuming 2 cups of crushed Graham crackers, your pie contains a total of about 4400 calories. Enjoy in moderation!

It’s definitely not health food, folks. This is self-apparent.

And if you chill it, it sets up as a pie nicely. It’s definitely worth putting into a crust (chocolate would not be my choice, but hey, knock yerself out).

Sound like it’d be worth dying for

Go a bit further with some sliced bananas and whipped cream on top and you’ve got a Banoffee tart. Very tasty. And if you use canned Dulce de Leche it’s a snap to make.

One of the other graduate students frequently makes Dulce de Leche, using this same recipe. It’s always a hit, and goes well with absolutely everything you’d think there’s even a chance might go well with sweet things.

Oh. My. God. I’m making this!

Muahahahahah another victim of our Dulce de Leche :D, soon everybody will be addicted and we (Argentina) will rule the world (the fat, hyper-tense, diabetic remains…)

The fat, hyper-tense, diabetic, and happy remains.
