As for Chinaman, I can tell you a small island offshore from Oahu is known as Chinaman’s Hat. That’s all I ever heard it referred to when we lived there. It’s a local landmark. So the term may be ingrained among the locals of that state.
I should have asked about their “Happy Hour” instead.

I had one run-in with Exapno several years ago in which he was completely, demonstrably and bizarrely wrong about something–and it was an unpleasant enough experience it still colors my perceptions of him to this day.

Other than that he’s been remarkably reliable when it comes to facts and reasoning, and very competent when it comes to explaining them. Enough so that when I read the OP, I make certain assumptions about the OP.

Exapno Mapcase has been posting here since March 11, 2002. You make a very general statement about him, despite only knowing about his behavior in one thread. It’s certainly possible that he’s wrong in that one thread, since everyone who’s been posting here a long time occasionally gets the facts wrong in some threads. That doesn’t prove that he’s all the things you claim that he is. If you want to show that he’s generally been as bad as you claim, read a lot of the older threads that he’s contributed to. You don’t persuade us that he’s that bad when you don’t know what he’s like in most threads.
The OP has been posting here for almost as long. 
I was thinking due to the nature of the issue that it would be somebody who is likely an academic… it’s not like vast numbers of people every day are discussing the relative wealth of the mid-1920s artistic community in Paris, right?
Then I remembered… this is the SDMB! It could be any of us!
