dumb people

I hate when people say they hate me. I am a straight A student and I don’t mean to brag but every time I get finished earlier with an assignment in class at least 2 people tell me they hate me. When we get our report cards, at least 1 person asks me what I got and when I say “All A s, how about you?” they say “I hate you.” I know these people are just jealous because it’s usually the people who get Cs, Ds, and Fs in class but it’s really starting to bug the h*** out of me. It makes me want to. . .to. . .I don’t know what i want to do really but I’ll tell, the next time someone tells me they hate because I get all As I am going to knock them into next month!

Lighten up, Bud. You’re the one with the A, after all.

They might just be being facetious. When I beat my wife at Scrabble sometimes she says “I hate you!”

It’s a left-handed compliment.

People will say unthoughtful things all your life. When I was working part-time, one of the full-timers would say to me faithfully, as I left at 2:00 each day, “You’re so lucky to be going home now.”
Number one, luck has nothing to do with it. I arranged to have a job where I could work the hours I wanted to work. You didn’t. No luck involved here.
Number two, I have a part-timer’s paycheque, you have a ful-timer’s paycheque. Now who’s the lucky one?
People are always opening their yaps without thinking about what’s coming out. Try not to let it bug you too much; like Scylla said, you’re the one getting the A’s.

I hate you!
…:p…

I hate you kniz…I was gonna say that.

[sigh] I knew someone would try that.

Advice: experience will now speak.

Stay in school, continue to make good grades, graduate, get a good job in a good field, marry someone you love, and then, when you’ve got the world by the tail and all of them who said “I hate you” are selling insurance and patronizing divorce attorneys…enjoy the much better life you’ve made for yourself and your family. It’s completely normal to be resented for performing better than someone else, even when they didn’t even try. Don’t worry about it, and don’t let them drag you down with them.

It sounds like maybe you’re in high school, forgive me if you’re not. High school has a way of seeming like the most important time of your life---- it isn’t. The people that do so well socially tend to “burn out early” and rarely succeed in the long run.

I was persecuted in high school and only managed to get it together after I realized that they were wrong. I am not the most physically attractive thing in the world, but I have a good job and a good moral base and the ability to do what’s right by my family. I found a mate who thinks like I do, we have a 1-year-old son and another on the way.

It’s ok to be smart, it’s right to succeed, it’s nice to look back and see how far you’ve come. If you’re smarter than the average bear, it’s ok to use your god-given advantage. God knows you deserve it. Hang on, your day is coming. Your reward will be the greater for the wait.

When the country is continually dumbed-down, the advantage of the smart increases! I may begin to use that as a signature file.

Are you sure? I always pictured you as a roast beef on rye with Russian dressing.

You used incorrect vBcode. You forgot [/sigh] at the end, so that now your sigh will go on & on & on & on…

miatachris

Reminds me of Bruce Springsteen’s song, *Glory Days[/].

What miatachris said.

I’m not even going to go and count the number of people who wrote in my yearbooks, “Your such a brain.” sigh

From experience, I can say that the best thing to say to defuse this situation is “I’m very pleased with what I got.” Or “I did well, thank you for asking.”

Really, the only people that need to know your actual grades are college or university recruiters, and I assume that they will not say “I hate you” when you provide them. Perhaps something more like “Here have a scholarship.”

Al.

Sorry!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

Well, da’cook I suppose the real question is how come you’re such a jerk that everyone hates you? Or… How come you have to flaunt your proven ability to be a tool of the establishment?

I don’t get it. Who the heck’s da’cook?

da’cook created the thread then changed her username to ozonebaby. The data over

<–

there gets updated from the user database every time the thread is opened, so it always reflects your current post count, among other things, rather than the post count when you originally posted. It also reflects changes in user name and account status (member vs. banned, for example).

Wait a minute. The thread starter is da’cook, and the OP is ozonebaby. Either there is a bug or a rat.

Oh. Well then. Nothing to see here.

I am getting tired of hearing that stuff now. Someone today said “you’re too smart”. I relpied with “I’m not smart. You’re just dumb.” Don’t pull it on pretty girls or people who could hurt you. I was talking about power curves with the teacher in Algebra 2 and someone said “how can you know that stuff? You’re too smart!” I just said “It’s called thinking. Try it sometime.” It was an annoying bitch girl, so everyone laughed.

I don’t like when people see that someone is better than them at something and decide to take that person down to their level. Same way with people flaunting intelligence and being arrogant.

No one important.
