Anyone playing this yet? I bought the four pack on Steam and sold the extra copies fairly quickly. I think I’ve probably played close to 20 hours of it and it’s a lot of fun. It’s a multiplayer tower defense game with RPG elements in it as well. I have to admit, I’m usually a sucker for leveling stuff up.
Maybe we can get a SDMB game going if it turns out a few of you play.
For the rest of you, I’d recommend buying it but you’ll probably want to wait a few weeks in case they decide to discount it for their Black Friday sale.
Haven’t got it but I’m definitely tempted, really enjoyed playing Orc Must Die and Sanctum and they’re in the same genre. I’m a bit leery of anything that forces you to play multi but apparently it has a decent matching system so maybe I should just give it a go.
You don’t really HAVE to play multiplayer.
Well, you sort of do. You play the multiplayer mode alone. You can start a private multiplayer game so pubs can’t get in and just don’t invite any friends.
A lot of times, it’s easier to complete a level alone too because you can do exactly what you want.
Also, you can switch characters mid-game so you can start round one with a squire, build some blockades, then switch to an apprentice for the second round for some turrets, then a monk before the third round for some auras.
A lot, if not all, of the regular levels can be beat solo once you develop your character enough. Sometimes you just need another player though (this is mostly for the challenges).
The review I read said it’s perfectly possible to play solo, but that you’re missing out on the whole experience by not doing it with others as it’s effectively a co-op game. It was more that I meant I’d like to try it out the way it’s designed to be played, whereas I usually prefer to play solo, so that’s a mental hurdle I’ll need to overcome
Bumping this to see if anyone got the game during the Steam Autumn Sale.
I did, and I think SenorBeef bought the 4-pack to distribute. I’d be down to play this weekend sometime.
Yep, I got in on the pack with SenorBeef, but I’m happy to play with others, too.
I’d happily join in but a) Skyrim and b) in Europe, so play tiimes aren’t likely to coincide.
