Except, if any of it were true, even if she had been trained to cover it up like the defense claims, you would think this would be a critical part of the defense that would have been mentioned a wee bit before her lawyer’s opening statement.
Except that now the jury is specifically ordered to avoid media and news - so they won’t hear/see the denials until they are done in open court - gives the idea time to brew in the juror’s heads even if ridiculously false.
I’d still love to see an answer for the GQ above - if the defense threw this out there without evidence to back it up - is this a disbarment offense? I can see the victim making these claims (especially if she’s pathological liar as claimed above), but the defense at that point should know better than to use the info based on the accused claims only

Jose Baez has already made several gaffs in court. Judge called him out several times about stuff. I don’t think Baez has much experience.
Hope this isn’t too much of a hijack, but I couldn’t find the information in a casual half-assed search, so I’ll ask here. Who is Caylee Anthony’s father? She has the same last name as her mother and maternal grandparents. I haven’t seen any mention of Caylee’s father in the news, though I admit I haven’t paid very close attention.

According to this article, Caylee’s father is unnamed. Though apparently the FBI did a paternity test on Casey Anthony’s brother. :eek:
That paternity test is alleged by the defense as part of their evidence that Casey was abused by everyone.
According to court papers, the FBI agent said Casey Anthony gave him the impression the father could be her brother.
She claims the the father was killed in a car accident. If it’s anything like her daughter’s accidental death, that means they haven’t found his body yet.
Anyone want to bet that she just found the name of a guy who’d been killed in an accident, and used that name knowing nobody could ever verify?
I’m gay, and I’ve only been in Orlando once since I was an adult and that was just for a day, and even I have sexually abused Casey Anthony. It was a fad back in the late 90s; today it offends sensitivities but at the time we didn’t see anything wrong with it.

1)Her choice of a lawyer who wou’dnt fight exclusively for her (hopefully, at least until the kid was found) is key. She picked a real loser for a criminal Def Atty by all accounts.
2) George is more interested that she keeps playing by the playbook, even after she’s in for a month. Wants to get in a room alone w/her. All he can think of. HLN reports that the inside sccop is that she finally DID get that metting okd and at last moment SHE cancelcelled. She didn’t want to be hounded about being the only one paying a price for a family decision.
3) At one point she is heard bemoaning her haveing to protect the familt, protect the family, and Cindi blurts out quickly “whos threatening us?whos threatening us?” which sounds viewed through the common prism that she’s simply asking a question; but through THIS prism, she saying “Casey, hush. You’re giving it away. Watch your mouth(I KNOW, this is the only mis-statement she’s made up to that point, she really IS a stud).”
It’s a huge legal gamble, and I cannot imagine how much worse it got when the body was found. I’ve heard that there’s been no contact b/t her and fam saince then.
OK, now this. Before the body was found, all they’re looking at is a missing child. George actually says in one of the vids, You know Case, we may just have become one of those families, like John Walsh, who just lives there evtire lives looking for their missing kid.

This is just a WAG but what if Casey deliberately picked an attorney she knew might not be all that good at his job? Because then, if she’s judged “guilty” she can say she didn’t have an adequate defense, move for a new trial or something, and muddy the waters even further.
I can see her swearing that she never consented to the “Caylee drowned in a pool and Daddy molested me” story.

Her choice of atty could be key b/c maybe he’ll allow direct talks b/t her and George while being convinced that George is a co-conspirator. What would in a perfect world be an atty’s responsibility if convinced of the dad being directly involved w/her in the death? Would an atty be mandated to fight exclusively for her? Or no.
Her turning down the meeting (HLN is Headline News btw) says, in this theory, that she didnt’ want to bhounded by any of them to stay on message. She wanted them to think/sweat maybe that she was considering implicating all of them b/c she had been in at that point for 1 full month and, by all accounts, was not happy. And, remember, the body was still not found.
The ‘prism’ is the theory that her and George (and possibly all four of them) conspired to rid themselves of Caylee out of ‘concern’ of the life it would lead having been borne of George and Casey.
And one more vid to view through this prism is the Lee/Casey discussion. To me, it was clearly simply and completely used to , in code-speak, help her, from jail, clean up/clear up any inconsistencies or uncovered-up rocks. Why would any bro-sis combo NEED to use what were clearly code words and speak of people to trust and not trust?? Why? Seriously, this was actually when I began to believe that she was taking the fall and at least 3 of them were in on trying to make sure no-one knew or would find out.
…And then the body is found. And I’m not aware of that part of the story; but I’m ging to assume that there isn’t much communication b/t her and fam after that.

The attorney’s responsibility is to his or her client - not the co- conspirators, even if the co-conspirators are family. Occasionally, attorneys will represent more than one person when both persons are charged together of the same crime, but it’s far more likely that each conspirator will have his or her own personal attorney (since each person will almost certainly have separate goals and somewhat different cases.

Your speculation that all four of them are in cahoots to murder the child doesn’t have any evidence to support it.

If all four of them were in cahoots, it was really dumb of Casey’s mom to call the cops and report Caylee missing. Nobody was asking any quesitons. They would have been smarter to move somewhere and start a new life and never mention the child.

Which ‘her’ are you talking about here? Why is concern in air quotes? And, if what you’re saying is true, why wouldn’t they have simply sought an abortion? Why would they wait till the child was two?
