Dunh-dunh-DUNH! Perry Mason like twist in Casey Anthony Trial

The Orlando Sentinel has a current article about how most legal experts think Anthony’s attorney is a complete and utter idiot. I wonder if it will giver her grounds for appeal because he sounds incompetent.

Damn. Screw EPCOT, I’m going there when I’m in Orlando again.

4. If all four of them were in cahoots, it was really dumb of Casey’s mom to call the cops and report Caylee missing.

Like you’ve never had anything slip your mind for a moment. (“Of course I can’t find my glasses because I’m wearing them”- “My car keys are in my freaking hand!”- “Of course I can’t find my granddaughter because I helped cover up her death!”- these things happen.)

Again not to sound too sociopathic, but if I just had to get rid of my dead granddaughter’s remains and then explain her disappearance I think I’d make a trip to the Everglades or go out to sea and then wait a week and call the cops and report her kidnapped. Has he never watched an episode of Dexter? You sure as hell wouldn’t dispose of remains in your own neighborhood, that’s just idjit.

I’m really surprised Casey didn’t get life insurance on Caylee.

If they were all in cahoots, looking to get rid of the child because she was product of incest, or any other reason, wouldn’t crib death have been the way to go? There is no excuse for waiting two years, if they’re all in it together, to my thinking.

Not only that, but if someone’s ashamed of a child born of incest, they don’t take all those photos and videos of the child.

It’s a silly theory. Not quite as silly as George covering up an accidental drowning, but still silly.

I’ve been casting the TV movie. John Hurley is a lock for George, but I’m not sure about Cindy. She reminds me of Geraldine Ferraro, or Meredith Baxter Birney. Casey? Maybe Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Makes sense. I could leave Cindi out, then.

But watch the video of Lee alone w/Casey when she’s in jail. Act as if he really had one priority: Getting her/their story straight and setting up a way for them to get reliable information back and forth that even biaz wouldn’t see. This would make sense if they thought that if Biaz caught wind of the conspiracy that he may feel obligated to either turn him, Lee, and George in or something inconvenient (to say the least) like that.

I truly think it is fascinating to watch when viewed like that. That’s all I’m saying.

they’ve agreed , in my theory, to just let Casey take the fall as a missing child mother. Theyve devised a pretty good scheme. She’s only misstepped a couple of places, and they’re (the 3 of them) now just doing housecleaning.

I appreciate your criticisms, I really do. This is the first site of this nature that I’ve ever considered logging on to, and am glad I did.

Heck, maybe it didn’t become clear that it WAS George’s until around then??

Thanking you for your upgrade in language skills, your audience greatly appreciates it.

I haven’t seen the interview you’re referring to, any idea where I can see it?

How could it be both; not clear it was George’s, and also, that be the motivation for the conspiracy you’re proposing?

Also, who is biaz/Biaz?

Maybe the orlando sentinel.com?
Seems like they have a whole page of pdfs and vids.

Biaz is Casey’s atty.

I really tend to doubt that. The standard for ineffective assistance of counsel is not as lax as some in this thread are making it out to be. The courts don’t guarantee you a good defense*, and it would be hard to win on appeal because your lawyer made bad tactical decisions. Now, if the lawyer put on NO defense, that might be a different story. But, in this case, he’s being arguably overzealous in his defense, and I really don’t think that this would be grounds to have a conviction overturned.

*I’m reminded of a case I read in law school, where it had come out that the defendant’s attorney was high on cocaine during the trial. The appellate court did not overturn the conviction, though, since the coked up lawyer did participate in trial. You aren’t guaranteed a perfect defense, the court concluded, and the trial transcripts did show that the lawyer was involved in the case.

He was on Greta last night. Here’s the explanation for the fact that they haven’t had contact w/Casey since Oct 2008:

Because they can’t be assured of confidentiality. Really?

What’s to hide? How about a “Hi hon. We love you.” Need confidentiality for THAT!? C’mon…

What happens legally if Casey, from the stand, does directly accuse/implicate her father, from the stand now, with some hard proof?

His name is Jose Baez.

Conovox, DNA testing has already excluded George and Lee from the pool of potential baby daddys. I believe that the FBI only tested Lee, but the results effectively ruled out both men by showing that Caylee’s father could not have been a close relative of Casey’s.

I don’t know what would happen legally, but I wager this scenario will not happen. If Casey had “hard proof” of anything, she would have used it by now.

She can accuse whoever she wants. The government decided to charge her and not her father, which means they don’t think there is evidence he was involved. If her attorney had evidence I think he would have already turned it over to the government to try to get the charges dropped or reduced.
