Subject: Duration of rollover in these boards.

Can we extend the life of the pre-view text box that appears when we roll the mouse over the link to each thread? Is this a personal setting I have to set on my PC? I am using Windows 2000 with IE version 6.
The few seconds it appears is not enough time to read it.

This would probably get more attention in “About This Message Board”. Maybe ask a mod to move it along for you.
The box is a product of Javascript so the size depends on the script itself not your browser.
It’ll stay visible as long as you keep moving your mouse slightly.
The box is actually just a tooltip*, so it’s limited by tooltip duration time. This setting is global throughout Windows, and as far as I know you can’t change it.
- It’s caused by the “title” attribute of the table cell that the thread’s subject line is displayed in. Displaying it as a tooltip is up to the browser; I believe in Opera it appears in the status bar instead, for example. Disclaimer: I haven’t used Opera in a long time.
This question was asked on these boards the last few months. I don’t have a link to the thread, but from memory someone found a solution. The solution though looked so complicated, it seemed not worth the effort.
Just do this. It’s simple and effective.
