DVD Burning Question

I’m using Pinnacle 8 to make DVDs for use on home DVD players. Typically, the program will record the movie to DVD automatically, however, I set it so it created a copy on my hard drive so I can burn it later at whatever time I want. However, I’m confused as to what folders/files I need to burn to the DVD. Here are the folders it lists:

-/Auxiliary Files

  • /finalmenus5 (Note: the title of my project)
    -/DVD
    -/DVD Temp
    -/Menus
    -/Mpi
    -/Video_TS
    -/vmgm
    -/vts_1

It seems I should only require the Video_TS folder on the DVD (The DVD played in my DVD player both with all the files and only the Video_TS). However, I wonder why my software would include all those extra files if I didn’t need them. So which do I need?

Damnit, it didn’t format it as I intended. The latter 6 folders are in the DVD folder, and are the same 6 I copied to the DVD (which worked).

AFAIK, the VIDEO_TS folder is the only one the DVD player is going to touch. I’d imagine that the other folders are used by the software to store your settings or project, so you can backup or reuse them in the future.

Excellent, thanks. One more question, why do the files in the Video_TS folder have to be in that folder (or do they have to be?). Why not just have all the files on the disk itself, sans any folders?

They have to be in that folder. It’s just the way things are !

Folders are pretty any how
