I really wish I could be excited too, but I found the movie to be a huge disappointment. It wasn’t bad by any means, but certainly not on the same level as Finding Nemo or the Toy Story movies.
I think the problem for me was that I went in expecting more of a comedy and ended up with more of an action movie. For sure there were funny parts, but not nearly at the consistency the trailer alluded to. I also felt the character development was relatively weak (aside from Mr. Incredible). Also, some of the character designs just bugged me; they looked out of place with the rest of the environment, such as Mr. Incredible’s boss or the son’s teacher.
Again, it wasn’t a bad movie by any means, but it certainly didn’t live up to my admittedly lofty expectations. Here’s hoping Cars turns out better than the trailor insinuates.
Ok, I’ll jump in here, Bosda!
I’m singing in the rain
I can’t wait, and my SO liked it even better than I did. And FTR we have no kids.
I’m so happy! Any idea about special features, etc.?
None, but I’m bubbling with joy over the whole thing!
I’m anticipating the DVD about as much as you Bosda*, if you can wrap your mind around that. I’ve seen it in theaters three times, and may see it a fourth time before it’s off the silver screen. It’s become one of my favorite movies of all time.
*Just out of curiosity, how many times have you seen it?
Dang, I was wishing for a March release. But April isn’t that far away…
As for special features, I remember reading in Wired that when Brad Bird first showed up to work at Pixar, he brought along a camcorder and filmed everything because he wasn’t sure if the company would evaporate under his feet or not (echoes of the production chaos during The Iron Giant, no doubt). supposedly that camcorder footage will be one of the DVD extras.
I can’t wait.
I’ve seen it 4 times, and it seems to get better with every viewing.
Just a side note: The special edition of Bird’s other masterpiece, Iron Giant, was re-released on DVD a few weeks ago. I highly recommend it!
Bosda, where’s your rumour coming from?
I’m not disputing or anything, but Digital Bits’ Rumour Mill is saying March 15[sup]th[/sup]
(see the posting on that linked page from November 30[sup]th[/sup]).
Your linky-link does not work for Baby Bosda.
:dubious:
um… sorry Bosda )and everyone else).
That’s just… wierd. It works for me.
Anyways, here’s the actual URL. Second post down the page.

I was just curious, cos I’ve read in several places (I can’t think where now, dammit) that this will be the fastest DVD release for any Pixar, and possibly any Disney-related, production. Although this could be mere hype, etc. I have no idea if it’s true.
Assuming the “quickest Pixar movie to DVD” rumor is true, do you guys think we’ll get a bare bones DVD at first, and then an Incredible Special Edition DVD sometime later?
I wondered about that too, JoeSki. I’ll wait for the tricked-out one if I have to. Not patiently, but I’ll wait.
Not likely IMO, since Pixar has never shown a desire towards milking the public in this direction.
(Okay, okay, there was the Ultimate Toy Box collection, but damn if it wasn’t worth the price of admission…)
