I have a new HP laptop with dvd writer. When I put a verbatim dvd-r into it it says insert recordable medium. The combo drive is a toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6252. Any idea what is wrong, or if I am doing something wrong.
Most newer HP notebooks with DVD burners onboard will (IIRC) only record onto DVD+RW burn once and rewritable blanks, not DVD-R. Have you checked your DVD drive specs for compatibility?
