I like those pairings.
Probably another challenging week for Alek, given the stabbing of his buddy Spencer.

Loving this season.Bindi Irwin is awesome. As is Nick Carter. It’s great to have Alfonzo Ribero back. Now is Erin Andrews could disappear.Still enjoying the judges, except CarrieAnn
Erin is finally growing on me. It’s taken a long time, but now I just see her as goofy with a good heart.
Yeah, I like Erin. She’s fun and just kind of rolls with the craziness going on around her.
Switch-Up Week - no elimination
Tamar and Louis - good, not spectacular
Paula and Mark - her best dance, loved Mark’s dorky milkman intro, still hope she goes home next
Hayes and Allison - okay, but forgettable
Alek and Emma - I like that Emma had–for this week–an age-appropriate partner who could comment about how hot she is! Good dancing, but Alek still needs to have some facial expressions when he’s dancing.
Bindi and Val - great, as usual, but Bindi needs to be careful–when she was gushing about bringing people along on ‘my journey’ and so forth, it sounded like she had already won the mirrorball trophy, and that could turn voters off.
Carlos and Lindsay - very good, but overscored
Alexa and Derek - even better, but also overscored. Perfect 10s?!
Andy and Sharna - much improved, nice choreography by Sharna
Nick and Whitney - Nick’s past dance experience really shows in his performances–but I agree with Julianne’s critique that he overdoes it sometimes.
This is from a week ago.
Bindi showed up to practice with a giant python.
Why am I not surprised? ![]()
Iconic dance week is usually very good. Its always fun seeing them recreate these dances. Derek and Bindi Dirty Dancing will be the highlight. Grease with Hayes Grier and Emma Slater is another I look forward too.
here’s a list and who is dancing. There’s several I’m not familiar with.
A little drama this last week with Tamar allegedly rushing back to the set from the hospital just in time to perform her team dance and not get eliminated. Bye, bye, Alexa.
I was disappointed in that outcome–Alexa has been doing well and seemed to really want to be there, whereas Tamar never seemed as enthusiastic about any of this. When it came down to Alexa or Carlos, I was hoping Carlos would be the one going home. He’s done well, too, but I think Alexa and Mark are more exciting to watch.
And [spoiler for events that happened after Monday’s show]
Tamar dropped out of the competition the very next day!
Of those remaining, I’d guess Bindi and Nick are the front-runners. The producers seem to be really pushing Nick on us. I’m kinda rooting for him because I would like to see Sharna win–her choreography has been great, as usual.
Alek seems to be the weakest dancer left. He’s probably exceeded all expectations to get this far.
Tamar likely felt she had decent enough scores from last week and was probably hoping she could get someone else eliminated. Such a drama queen. Such a bitch. She knew she was leaving, she wanted to get someone else out and not be the auto DQ for not showing up. She was truly an attitude issue from day one.
I don’t care how good their dancing is, when someone on DWtS shows themselves to be an attitude problem, I can no longer root for them at all.
It would be nice if they would put Alexa back in for another chance since Tamar is out anyway.
But unless this next show is non-elimination, she’d probably just get the boot again anyway. And there would be a problem with her scoring–viewer votes from this week count with the judges’ scores from next week to determine who goes home next week. Since Alexa was booted this week, she probably didn’t get many viewer votes after the show.
Which helps flesh out my Tamar Is a Bitch theory.
I can’t believe they didn’t boot THG (Train Hero Guy). He topped out weeks ago and isn’t getting any better. Bindi is amazing. She does NOT have a dancer’s body*, but she makes that not matter. She’s is ALL ON ALL THE TIME!! Hope she gets it.
Rumor Willis has a dancer’s body.
Totally agree. Its horrible this woman comes back just for a few minutes to avoid a DQ. Alexa should have not been eliminated knowing Tamar was too sick to continue.
Spoilers ahead for the finals!
Monday
Freestyles: Carlos and Witney did a hip-hop routine. Pretty good, though not to my taste. I didn’t care much for Alek and Lindsay’s obstacle course dance–it felt too clunky. Nick and Sharna did, predictably, a Backstreet Boys dance–a big, concert-style production. They did it very well, but I’d have liked something more original and artful. Bindi and Derek did a ‘stripped-down’ emotional dance, which seems to be Derek’s go-to for DWTS final freestyles. It was good, though a bit schmaltzy, but the manipulative bit with the photo at the end was too much.
Carlos got the boot. That pleasantly surprised me. I think Carlos is a better dancer than Alek, but I like Alek’s personality a lot more and was glad to see him advance.
Tuesday
Some nice pro dances, and it was fun seeing all of this season’s contestants again, minus Tamar.
The fusion dances by the three remaining teams were good, but kind of anticlimactic after the freestyles of the previous night.
And the mirror ball trophy goes to… Bindi and Derek.
It was the ‘correct’ outcome, IMO, though I’ve been rooting for Sharna to win since her first season so I was hoping this would be her and Nick’s night. But Bindi was a better dancer.
That makes six wins for Derek. I don’t think any of the other pros have more than two wins.
Yeah, Bindi was the clear winner, and I called it weeks ago. My DVR screwed up and I missed the last 2 dances. Did Train Hero Guy get perfect scores? I saw that Bindi did, but that’s no surprise. THG should have been eliminated quite awhile ago.
Nah, he got nines. I could see him in in 5th place, tho
No Tamar on the show. Yeay
Hurray for Bindi!
I’m also cheering for Bindi, although she’s been getting the “Winner’s Edit” since the beginning. Guaranteed to make you root for her/fall in love with her. Still, she is just a beter dance than the others, so I’m please how it turned out.
It almost seems like you’d have to amputate a limb of a partner for Derek, just to even the playing field.
