E-mail this page to someone?

Is it in fact possible for me to “e-mail this page to someone” or

A) has that feature been disabled?

or

B) maybe I really have forgotten my password, in which case, I’ll go off and hit myself on the head.

I was particularly taken by the “what people don’t know” MPSIMS thread, and though it would amuse a friend. That’s the measure of how UNimportant it is, really.

I just thought I might as well ask and find out for future reference.

That feature had to be turned off as trolls were using it to confuse people with false e-mails.

Cutting and pasteing the address into a mail is less work anyway.

OK, will probably do that. Thanks Yojimbo Of course, if I encourage friends to get too fond of this board, I shall find myself looking at all new names and trying to guess if someone I know has joined. Could be a good game, I suppose… Not all that likely though.

Why do people ask questions instead of trying things?
Why guess when you can know for sure?

This is a great site. You should all be spreading the word.

I use it all the time. The last time was on Thanksgiving when I complained about turkey and sent all the supporting comments to my sister. (And it worked! She added ham to the menu for the first time.)

That feature was turned back on months ago.
They just added this disclaimer “Straight Dope Message Board takes no responsibility for messages sent through its bulletin board systems.”

Try it. It works fine.

 I realized you MUST have tested it to ask that particular question about the password.
So the software QA ethic in me made me try it again a few times.

Now I know what you ran into.
I can get it to work sometimes and not others.

I sent Yojimbo a link to this thread, and it worked fine.
Then I posted.
Then I tried to send a copy to myself and it asked me for a password again.

I had to be logged out to send the page. I guess that’s the state I’ve always been in when I’ve used it.

Ain’t software fun

Ahh. I’m generally logged on so didn’t notice that it works when logged out.

Thx for the heads up.
