Dude, if you’re in doubt about how a post might be received, get a second opinion before you make yourself look like a complete ass. I did, and I am glad that I took the trouble.
I had written a satirical tune based on a thread title I saw on SDMB, and although I thought it was funny as hell, something in the back of my poor addled brain kept nagging at me that it might not be thought of as being funny, and so I e-mailed Coldfire about it.
He sent me back an e-mail advising against it, and he could not have been nicer in his wording. My little tune would have ruffled some serious feathers and it would have painted a picture of ol’ Quas’ that would not have represented me in the best possible light.
If in doubt get a second opinion.
