Metriod Other M is on the Wii, and it is a 2nd platformer…until you use the wiimote like a gun, and suddenly it switches to a third person view (like a FPS). There’s lots more to it, of course. See the GameTrailer preview.
Me, yes, I want to see Civilization V. Hoping to see some more of Castlevania: Lord of Darkness too, as it seems to be only upcoming decent Xbox360 game (in the action-adventure/fighting genre). And also, Elemental: War of Magic, touted to be the successor of Master of Magic. It’s currently worked on Stardock, so I’m hoping it be a success like their Galactic Civilization games.
I’m not really keeping up. Hoping Nintendo makes an announcement about one of it’s old franchises coming back. Still waiting for Star Fox Wii.
Foolish, foolish hope: Square announcing something other than lame Crystal Chronicles stuff for the Wii. Plz to announce FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre Wii. And a real FF Tactics game, with plot and characters and everything!
This is my first year of playing WoW - does Blizzard save everything for Blizzcon? Or does some cool stuff come out at E3?
I want to see what the 3DS will look like now that Apple’s a threat in that area. I only own a Wii, but took off a day to watch all three conferences. The interest I have in the business of games might exceed the interest I have in the games themselves. Last two years, the Nintendo show’s were crap, even though last year both Mario games, Metroid, and Zelda art where unveiled. I expect better from them this year. The presentation’s just been too boring.
I was sad to see they are slated for the morning after Microsoft’s presentation. There’s a collective ‘geek hangover’ that effects the audience’s enthusiasm.
Hm. It does look interesting. Does it have any multiplayer?
I’m interested in seeing what new tidbits are released with Halo: Reach. Maybe Call of Duty Black Ops. Outside of Crackdown 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Reach, and Black Ops, there isn’t anything else I know of out there that I’m interested in, although this new Metroid might be fun. I know it’s got almost two weeks out before Reach comes out, and hopefully I’ll have beaten it by that time, because I can’t see it beating out Reach for playing time.
Dunno, but that’s why I asked. I wonder how aiming is done in the side-scroller. It appears things come at you hot and heavy and there doesn’t seem to be much aiming unless it’s done in FPS mode.
Microsofts event didn’t seem to have much excitement around it this year. Natal is renamed Kinetic. They are releasing an Xbox360 Slim immEdiatelty. No real surprises with regards to upcoming games or exclusives. Still no price on Kinetic.
Early word on the Sony Move is very good this time. Much better than at the first appearance. People are saying it’s VERY precise and the lag that was there at the first demo is completely gone now. I think Sony is having their event tomorrow?
Nintendo is set up to have he biggest reveal this year with the 3ds. Interested to see how that pans out. I’m betting we see a Kid Icarus game but that’s based on nothing other than my gut.
But man, the Kinect portion of MS’ conference was horribly shitty. It was like all the worst parts of Wii shovelware made worse by the fact that it doesn’t have any of Nintendo’s exclusive content.
I agree that Kinect didn’t impress. MS usually has good events, but I was bored last night. Saw EA, but missed Ubi. Did they have any Wii games to show off?
Yeah. It made you wonder, why the fuck did they even try? Wii’s been out long enough that the only way MS was going to make inroads was to have superior content (or at least content that appealed to their target demographic). Instead, as you say, they rolled out shovelware. An immensely wasted opportunity…how many development man-hours went down the toilet for that?
