Early spring air out?

Hmm, looking at the Detroit weather forecast, it looks like Sunday is going to be high fifties, sunny, and a nice steady breeze. If so that is the perfect conditions for one of my most looked forward to rituals of Spring in my old-ass house…

Opening every freakin’ door and window I have to send the musty winter funk exiting the premises. However March 8th is the earliest i can every remember having considered doing such a thing. And even more miraculously, it may even allow the airing out of the place, without then having a house full of Spring allergens, cause I don’t think those are close to disseminating around here.

Well, that’s one silver lining to global climate change.

Some people burn rosemary for its fragrance and as a kind of ritual.

Hmm - I’m all for ritual AND welcoming open window season. But I’d wait until it were a tad closer to where I have my thermostat set, so as to avoid having my furnace work OT to warm the place back up.

Took my first bike ride w/ my sister yesterday. Hadn’t been out in Jan OR Feb. That’s too long. Took it easy - just an easy 20 miles. Felt good!

My outdoor thermometer read 67-69° yesterday, and I opened a couple of windows, but it felt awfully chilly. We keep the house at 68° - I’m thinking my thermometer is out of calibration.

But I, too, am looking forward to airing out the house.

A couple of Satudays ago we had 45 degrees. So I opened my bedroom window and then shut the door. When I opened the door that night…OMG it was amazing. It smelled like a warm spring evening. There’s nothing like opened window freshness. I’ve been sleeping with my window slightly open every night since even though it’s been only in the 20s.

60 is where my thermostat is set, so not a problem for me.

It was springish in Gold Rush land for a couple weeks till the snow three days ago. We’ll burn incense, not beans.

CLOSE THAT DAMNED WINDOW,

Sheesh, trying to give me pneumonia? Or maybe coronavirus?

The last two months have been almost non-stop rain. The brief periods of clearing are the cooold days.

Right, like I’m going to open a window.
