Just felt another quick single jolt at 3:54pm here in Mountain View.
Nothing like last nights though, which was about 15 seconds long.

Ok, they can stop any time now! So was that an aftershock, or are they pre-shocks for the Big One? (I’m feeling morbid today, sorry.)
Last night I was at the San Jose Diridon train station, standing outside waiting for my ride.
Felt the whole thing through the soles of my shoes, a couple of quick pops, a weird little vibration then the big rolly waves. I’ve never clearly felt different types of shocks before. As soon as I realized what was going on I walked away from the brick station building.
My SO is in Fremont and just IMed me that their power flickered for the 3.7 aftershock that just happened. They felt that one pretty clearly as well. We didn’t feel it up here in SF.
Happy Halloween!
Was eating dinner in a Red Robin in Santa Clara last night, pretty amusing that there was a bunch of hooting and clapping after the quake. Nothing fell over, and the bartender went and broke a glass out of disappointment I think, lol.
Huh, come to think of it, I did notice the power flicker at what could have been ~4:00 today. Bummer I didn’t feel anything.
Yeah, a classmate and I felt it this afternoon. Not very intense, but our desk was rattling.
I will never forget, after the Northridge quake, sitting around and guessing the magnitude of aftershocks. We got pretty good at it. I guess anybody would after a few weeks of the silly things. Or you’d be on the phone and the other person would say, “Ooh! Aftershock!” and a couple of seconds later…yep. The best one was that March while I was at a big Star Trek convention in Pasadena; it was about a 5, and I just sat there thinking “Wow, that was the biggest one for a while…” and the out-of-towners were freaked.
Aftershocks can be fun, as long as nobody gets hurt!
I haven’t lived in an earthquake zone for years, but it was a heck of an experience, that quake.
