I almost didn’t check in because I thought this was the old thread. I haven’t been checking the news lately due to the holiday. Glad to know no one was seriously hurt, but concerned about another one coming.
Aye; that’s it; thanks. Not sure what happened to the link; I copy/pasted a text message I sent my buddy and the link works fine in the text message (I just checked).
This goes to a Dropbox page with just the video.
Thanks again for finding that and correcting my error.
Are there any examples of people who just decide to leave and go to a different state and never come back?
They’re sick of aftershocks and don’t want to go thru it again.
I mean no packing, just tell friends and employers and GO!
Maybe the kids say they just don’t want to stay so mom and dad agree and they’re out of here.
Why? I mean, other states have blizzards, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes.
We have wildfire and earthquakes, but earthquakes really arent scary once you have been thru a couple.
I was visiting in California, but > 200 miles away (Los Gatos), but I have heard of Ridgecrest (think the closest I have been is Panamint* Springs)

- Mmm, panamint
Here is the USGS map of the area showing the earthquake activity for the last week. Yeah, it’s a bit crowded. That updates if you refresh the browser. As I type, there has not been anything over 2.5 for the last 3 hours, the first such 3 hour stretch since Thursday that’s been true of I believe.
Here is an easier to deal with map, that you can zoom, from CISN (California Integrated Seismic Network). You can see the two fault lines in question easily. The big blob of quakes near the NE end of the fault line are somewhat close to, but not on top of the Coso Hot Springs experimental geothermal field, run by the Navy.
