Easiest Game Ever

I just won.

The Easiest Game Ever

…what am I doing with my life

Winning?

You Have to Burn the Rope is supposed to be easy too, but I’m stuck.

…Have you tried burning the rope?

Does anyone else here wonder if this qualifies as a “game”? I mean, I think from a game design perspective, this is one of those interesting case studies.

But how? The game gave me zero instruction.

Apparently, Cookie Clicker is very popular.

You click a cookie. Other stuff does happen, but that’s most of it

I just remembered another one: Progress Quest. It’s a completely automated (that means you click start and watch the awesomeness happen) RPG where you slay monsters, take their stained ogre tighty-whiteys, rust monster scrotums (or whatever) until you can’t carry any more, then go to town to sell. Repeat. My Battle-Finch Slow Poisoner is going to make it big some day!

And based on the counters, people have been refreshing the win page more then the button page, or maybe they’re just going directly to the Win and skipping the button press part of the game entirely.

If by “most”, you mean “about 5%”. In my current run, I’ve made 23.878 quintillion cookies by clicking, out of a total of 460.43 quintillion.

I think that in the case of these ridiculously easy games, the real game is to make the most willfully obtuse reaction imaginable, then convince everyone else to follow suit and fall completely in line, and just keep it going and going as long as humanly possible. (Presumably the game ends as soon as someone says “Are you all idiots?” or “C’mon, I know you’re just making this up,” or whatever, but I’ve yet to see this happen.)

This being the case…sorry, but I don’t think anything’s touching You Have To Burn The Rope. Check out the TVTopes page. Sixty, count 'em, sixty entries. Don’t even get me started on the utter insanity on Kongregate. I mean, you’d think this would be the sort of thing that would spawn spinoffs, but why even bother?

I have a level 78 Gyro-gnome! I still “play” Progress Quest regularly!
