people are bidding so that this guy can give them the URL to a STORE that sells gamecubes and xboxes? Someone please tell me I just missed it somewhere.

These items are not due to be released to the public until mid-November. Anyone selling these now would have a hot item on their hands. Even just being able to get to a black marketer with access to this stuff is worth $7.99!
Fighting what since when?

I can’t post the website, I don’t think it’s safe to because of some of the other stuff they have for sale, but yes, you can buy it now.
I recently saw people bidding on the soon to be released DVD of the Simpsons first season. The terms, as I recall, were that you’d pay anytime up to the release day and the DVD would be shipped when released. People ended up bidding ten dollars above what Amazon was offered the DVD for under the same terms.
I was half tempted to start an auction for Godfather trilogy DVD’s and set the minimum bid at Amazon’s price. Then when it was released, I’d buy copies from Amazon, have Amazon ship them to the “winners”, and pocket the profits.
When the PS2 came out, my brother pointed me to an Ebay page where somebody was auctioning a BOX. An EMPTY BOX.
Bidding was up to $500 when I looked at it. I have no idea what it actually went for.
“Bidding was up to $500 when I looked at it. I have no idea what it actually went for.”
That happened a couple of times ebay banned them (people who did the auctions) though. I did put an empty box up once myself with a Buy It Now price of $15 so no one would bid too much for it.
There is also a Cube for sale on Ebay now, it was around $98 yesterday. Its the same package I mentioned.
Chaosopher, I’ve seen stuff like that before. People on eBay are generally quite stupid, and don’t read what they are buying. I’ve seen someone pay $200 for a clearly described Playstation 2 BOX. Just the box. The description said, “You are bidding on the box”. I’ve seen information being auctioned as well, including urls. Buyer beware!
