This illustrates the point I was trying to make in the other thread. Demanding “civil” language doesn’t make the assholes go away. And sometimes, the appropriate response to a civil, indecent poster is an uncivil response.

This is my point as well. . . without any of the words used above that are disallowed, of course.

You seem to think that the whole thing is about words. Having read many of your posts and the ruling below, I wouldn’t be as certain as you. YM(obviously)V.

And that’s what some of it is about. . . the ability to know within reason what’s allowed.

One is sexual and one isn’t. I was trying to limit the Bad Words list to a small number. If you’d rather, though, we can include the whole laundry list of words like asshole, bitch, shithead, and so on. Other than not having a rule at all, I’m open to different ways to do this. Maybe we should just have a list of Bad Words you can’t direct at another poster, while of course retaining a rule against unspecified “hateful remarks,” to cover the rare case of one of those comments that makes you gasp but doesn’t use any of the proscribed words. How’s that?
