But as long as **Hawthorne **is taking credit for reporting, and thus adding to the illusion that **Sapo **did anything worthy of mod action, I think he should be informed of the lameness of his Junior Modding.

Reporting a post is not junior modding. And Sapo was begging for it, as you very well know.

Since when is reporting a post considered junior modding?

What I’m seeing here is a don’t snitch mentality. Y’all are climbing on hawthorne because he reported a post that he believed to be troublesome. That is what posters are encouraged to do.

As you note yourself, above, **Lynn **would obviously be aware of the post **Hawthorne **reported. So, in reporting it, he was accomplishing nothing other than identifying himself as a poster who took offense, not so much at the post itself, but at Sapo’s posting style. It was a lame, suckup, unnecessary act.

I reported Sapo’s post (others may well have too). I did so assuming they would ban him for it. Not because it was a threat - it obviously wasn’t - but because he had clearly become one of those posters who post pretty much entirely to goad the mods. Some posters get like this. Some of them have good reasons for getting upset in the first place. But if you become one of those posters, you’re going to go. And if you think you’re clever enough to stay just this side of the line, you’re going to go sooner because it’s really obvious.

We all know this.

So even if you reckon you’ve got a legitimate beef against the administration about something - and many (including me) do - you’ve got to decide to go or stay and move on and post mostly about things other than the administration of the boards. Or you risk leaving a jerk.

What you and a few other busybodies may have missed is the simple fact that this board is a business. As a business it needs to make a profit. Like Sapo or not, he generated traffic. Traffic generates revenue. Revenue provides for a better board with more/'better features.

Yet this board is sometimes reluctant to allow the moderators to take a few lumps, even in the pit where the rules allow (or maybe not anymore) for a few dog bites.

I think the mods are generally very good at what they do here. If the admin and the busybodies would just leave them alone…

That makes Hawthorne an even bigger asshole. He just couldn’t wait for the mods to respond on their own and had to bring their attention to it quick.

Oh, please. I’m nobody here. I determine nothing and am barely heard in any thread. I’m one of those people whose post counts cause people to wonder whether I post extensively in Lord of the Rings minutiae threads.

You say this like there is something wrong with being one of those posters.
I have to agree with everyone that thinks treating FOAD as a threat is simply retarded. It still makes me wonder why C K Dexter Haven got involved. He should have left it to one of the three pit mods though he is not required to. Hopefully the Monday morning decision will be to rescind the Banning/Suspension.

1. While I haven’t discussed it with Dex, I can pretty well assure you that he wasn’t acting on **hawthorne’s **report.

2. We don’t allow suspended posters to post by proxy. I’m certain **bb **know this. **bb **is lucky (so far) that he only got a warning for for posting **Sapo’s **remarks. He’s got quite a record.

3. Reporting a post is not junior modding.

4. This thread was started by a poster who is currently suspended. The current discussion has nothing at all to do with the original topic. It reminds me of a thread on S2. Since I can’t move it there, I’m going to close it.
