Ed Zotti: Research and Writing in the Age of Wikipedia
October 24th, 2012
7:00pm
UC Auditorium
Free for all
Credited as being the “editor and confidant” of Cecil Adams, the writer of the nationally syndicated column The Straight Dope and multiple books. The books, columns and website all claim to be “Fighting Ignorance Since 1973 (It’s taking longer than we thought)”, and provide answers to all sort of absurd questions. We are sure the students on UT’s campus will have a few good ones that Mr. Zotti will be able to answer (with the expertise of the smartest man alive, Mr. Adams, of course!)
Actually anyone can attend the event for free and I encourage anyone who can to do so! I am on the committee bringing him to the campus, so if anyone has anyone questions I would be more than happy to answer them for you.
This is usually our policy, but I will send a letter to our director to see if it would be allowed for this event. We have the expertise, so maybe we can arrange one if there would be a demand.
Another vote here for a webcast - that would be very useful. Lots of interested people don’t live near enough to attend, but would be able to “attend” remotely to a live webcast or view a recording.
If not, that’s understandable, but digital access to lectures and speeches is becoming an expectation, not an extra.
See, I would so do this, but I’m working out of town right now. If someone goes, we should come up with a question that would totally surprise him…oh wait :smack:
