Eeeewwwww! [NCAA basketball injury]

That posted picture is gruesome… So for those of you with a weak stomach, please don’t click on the link in pancake3’s post.

I’ve seen some gory things in real life, but seeing a leg flop like that is always hard to see. I was amazed at the lack of blood, and I was also amazed that the kid wasn’t screaming his head off. He looked like he was pretty composed when they took him off the court. I was shocked he didn’t pass out or go into shock.

On the positive side, that looks like a very clean break, so I think he hill be back and able to play again at some point. Don’t know I’d he will be able to play at the same level, but time will tell.
The immediate and completely in-synch reaction from the cardinals bench was amazing. I’ve never seem 7-8 people react like that in unison before over an injury.

Poor kid.

They’ve already inserted the titanium rod and he may be released Tues. They’re watching for any complications. Impaired circulation is probably the biggest concern.

Medicine these day is amazing. They’re saying this kid may even be on the bench to see the Final 4 game this weekend.

Something had to be wrong before this injury. Maybe a stress fracture? Legs shouldn’t snap that easily.

WHY did I click that link!! Can’t unsee that!

I luckily was out of my chair when it happened live.

For whatever reason, compound fractures are extremely unsettling. Clint Malarchuk’s injury was worse, but I find that footage much easier to stomach.

I’m talking about next season - Louisville is taking a chance if they let him play, even in just the latter part of the season.

I screamed when I found the video.
OMG, that was brutal

Coach Pitino visited Keven and brought the division trophy. Keven is already up on crutches in his room.

These young kids are tough. They bounce back from injuries so much faster than I would now. He’s still in for a long rehab. But I bet he’ll be playing next season.

 Oh, SNAP! Thank you, I am fully awake now.

If I am reading the bylaws right, it may not be possible to get a medical redshirt if you haven’t used your normal redshirt year.

Don-That was always my understanding as well.

Meh. Rub some dirt in it and walk it off.

mmm

(jk, of course. Gruesome)

Is this play by play?

Looking at the picture, it’s more COLOR than play by play.

…hmmmmm…how to turn this into an internet meme…

If you google Kevin, Ware is the first suggestion. Above Hart, Durant, Bacon, Spacey, Garnett.

Huh, Spacey over Costner…

I’d love to find some edited video of this. I want to see the player reactions but can’t deal with watching the actual injury.

This. I’d be grateful for such a link.

He’s just got to work some Tussin into it. If the bottle gets low, add water, shake it up…more Tussin.
