For this thread on sci-fi author Peter F. Hamilton I re-read a 949 page novel so I could write post 15. It wasn’t until it was posted that reading a 900 page book to make an internet post came to seem a little… excessive. But maybe I’m not alone. 
What feats of effort have you expended in writing posts here at the SDMB, trying to prove a point? Math? Spreadsheet creation? Reading something for a post?
I’ll have to think about what effort I’ve done personally. In the meantime, let me link to this thread. (Which, I suppose I should tell people, is the pan-fried semen thread).
Math pretty recently, in this thread. Pretty futile, really, since it’s all statistically insignificant, but I don’t see anything wrong with keeping in practice.
My Mafia spreadsheet was pretty extensive. I kept it up until the Night after I died. Cough, cough I mean, the Night after nesta killed me.
