Eight years later, maybe I should try to finish up that degree

Long story short, I went to college from 1996-2001, but never quite finished. In 2009, I’ve mostly worked up the desire to actually move on in life, and go back to school. I’m looking for advice on how to do this.

Various details that may be important:[ul]
[li]The college that I went to was Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute[/li][li]Looking at my transcript here, I attempted 171 credits, earned 137, and my GPA is a whopping 2.25[/li][li]I started in aeronautical engineering, then switched to computer science a couple years in, accounting for many extra classes taken[/li][li]I’ve pretty much decided my current goal is library school, so I’m really looking for the easiest path to a bachelor’s degree, regardless of subject[/li][li]I’ve been a bike messenger for the intervening time, so I don’t really have any work experience relevant to anything[/li][li]I live in Boston, so there are many colleges available in the area (living in Troy, NY again is about appealing as cock and ball torture)[/li][/ul]

So, anybody have any idea how to proceed from here? Thanks in advance.

I think the first step is to speak with an admissions counselor at a few schools, starting with any community colleges that confer Bachelor’s Degrees (as it is usually cheaper) and tell them exactly what you have told us, and see what they have to say as far as what credits will transfer and what degree you could get the fastest based on what you’ve already earned.

Good luck!
