Just beat the Godskin Duo…not quite sure what happened. Theyd been beating me, the NPC Summon and the mimic fairly handily. So i got into the assasin gear and decided to use my bleed blade rather then my usual Goat armor and Graftblade.
The four of them were kinda piled up in a group so, I’d dart in and do some blood slashes, dart out…fight was only like 45 seconds old when suddenly their collective health bar went from 50 pct to 0 in a second.
the fuh. Ill take it. god knows i get killed out of nowhere enough.
Now im stuck on Malekith. I don’t mind a boss being hard but the very mechanics of the game are pissing me off. If i dont lock on him, I lose sight of him immediatly in second phase and if i do, my camera whirls all over the place as he hops around.
Come on guys, I know you like a hard game…but you can design a way so i can see him and me at the same time.
There’s a video out there, where a modder pits Malekith against all of the other main bosses. He absolutely wipes the floor with all of them! (his fire boosted attacks do percentage-based damage)
Ofnir was annoying cause it was plain he wasn’t that tough but he killed me a number of times. Godfrey was fairly quick. Now on Elden Beast. Chasing after him is the biggest pain
I just got past Morgott on my third attempt. One-shot Shade of Godfrey after he ambushed me. A caster build with Black Knife Tiche is utterly broken, even if beating the evergaol to get her was so incredibly frustrating. Why did I ever try to start as melee, especially without sword-and-board?
I’ve put ER down for now and am getting into Sekiro. I will get back to Elden Ring but I’m reluctant to do it while playing Sekiro because the muscle memory required is sooo different.
In the reverse, I originally started as a caster and got bored senseless spamming Glintstone Pebble with the same Demi-Goddess staff for 30+ levels so restarted as melee (didn’t have respec yet). Then, after about 80 levels of melee, I realized I had a shitload of spells and caster gear so spec’d into a caster and played how I was hoping to play from the start.
I think those guys who post (except maybe Asmongold) their “I beat Elden Beast so easy” videos are just posting their one win out of 25. That dude does shit i dont see in their videos.
Like going underwater and then breaching and firing his death spears with no warning (cause he was underwater)
Beast is tough after Radogan - Definitely get the feeling that the beast was designed to be taken on horseback - but they changed their mind for whatever reason. Can’t think of any other boss in the entire series where you have to cover that much ground.
I think Torrent is impressively well done, mechanically - imagine if they got that wrong, the whole game would suffer. But they seemed uncertain with developing story or lore around the nag, so I wonder if the final fight is an aspect of it - it seemed initially like it would be major part of the story the way Torrent was introduced by the Maidens, but it didn’t really gather momentum.
Perhaps getting power-ups for the horse, or a different coloured saddle, is a rabbit hole they preferred not to go down.
Ok, I’m at Elden Beast and this is possibly one of the worst boss fights in the game. Almost every single attack is a massive AOE thats impossible to avoid, the camera makes it so you can’t see what the hell is going on when he’s near you and his swimming move or whatever it is where he moves all the way across the huge battlefield are stupid. I’ve been stuck at him for an hour now. Basically 4 bosses in a row, each feeling like it could be the end but nope. Another. And another. And another. I’m just ready for it to be done, which is a crappy way to feel at the end of an mostly awesome game.
I quite liked Elden Beat first time up - felt suitably epic, but that was just first playthrough excitement. On reflection it’s a poor final boss, lacking in most areas. Been said already but really feels like you need Torrent for this fight.
On its own it wouldn’t be too bad - with practice you can avoid most of the attacks reliably, apart from Elden Stars which always ends up doing some damage ime. Just coming after Radogan (great boss imho) makes it hard on melee builds.
Elden Beast is Absolutely the worst boss in any Souls game period. I’ve burned probably 20 arcs, summoned 20-30 coops who can’t even make it past the first stage Radagon. Almost every one of his attacks are 2 hit AOE blasts that are impossible to dodge or block the second one. They smash the ground in a huge spot that’s too big for you to actually escape before it explodes for the second hit. I may actually just call it quits at this point. Really disappointing.
ETA and it takes me 20-30 min to get a coop to successfully connect.
The mimic or blackknife Tiche will be miles stronger than 90% of player summons, so I’d use the spirit if you’re summoning. Unfortunately you get some very average players putting their signs down - fine for easy bosses but it just dooms the fight against anyone hard.
Coop connections are horrible for the host so I know what you mean about waiting for a summon (it’s fine the other way around) - it’s worse for this boss than any other ime. I think 2 summons are far stronger than 1, despite the additional buff to the boss. But you frequently see hosts just give up on summoning again because of connection probs.
Is it the beast that is causing all the difficulties? For me I felt Radogan was the key - if you can learn him you’ll beat the beast. But if you’re going life and death with Radogan and hitting the beast with 2 or 3 flasks left then it can’t be done.
I solo’d them this week on a faith build and was absolutely horrible on Radogan at the beginning, nowhere near killing him. Slowly figured out what was good / bad on my build (he is weak to fire, he does holy damage) and ended up killing him on two flasks. I don’t really have the beast’s moveset down but given enough flasks you can kill it as the heal windows are large.
The physick that regens you on death (forget the name - like tears of denial or second chance) is worth considering - it’s easy to overdo things underneath the beast as the attack windows can feel like they’re few and far between. You can get OSK doing this so a second chance can be huge.
Hey, is Easy Mod still working with all updates? I am playing Dragon Quest XI instead of Elden Ring now, but am not ruling out Elden ring if I can reduce the difficulty to other game levels.
