What states that matter are the Cheneys a big influence on?
What are the Dems selling that people aren’t buying? Mass deportations which lead to higher prices on everything? Massive tariffs that lead to higher prices on evertyhing?
Plenty of time for post-mortems, but you see in this very thread more than one reference to voters claiming they didn’t vote for Harris because she wasn’t liberal enough.
This may be an impossible circle to square. They have abandoned their economic populism entirely to the GOP, and that is not an easy thing to win back.
I’ve stated my stance on the Cheney’s and why it was a mistake and almost got banned for it. I’m not going to repeat it here.
As it stands now, Harris will lose 5 swing states by less than 200K votes each.
Candidates are replaceable. Voters, unfortunately, are not.

Democrats aren’t liberal enough. They’re a pro-business, pro-corporate, pro-capitalism party that has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the conclusion that minorities are people. If we had actual liberals running for office we wouldn’t be looking at a 50/50 split every four years.
For that matter, I have also spoken on the white female vote and tried to explain why they would not be the rock Harris was betting on.
I’ve been proven to be correct in everything I’ve said, even if the board did not like it.
So now here we are.
As I asked before, when Americans—Republicans, Democrats, MAGATs, Progressives—see this, how will they react?
Sure the MAGATs want to deport everybody who cannot show documentation of American citizenship (Holy “Papers please,” Batman), but how will the others react when their friends, neighbors, employees, are rounded up? How will all react when that $10 item at Walmart is $12 tomorrow, because of tariffs? When Musk and Bezos get a great tax cut while they don’t?
The don’t understand how fucked we are, they just don’t.
The argument the other way is why not have massive tariffs on all the Chinese made crap we’ve been importing since the end of the Clinton administration? What’s the worst that can happen? Walmart and Dollar Tree go out of business from lack of sales?

I don’t think the narrative that this happened because the Democratic Party wasn’t left-wing enough is going to have nearly as much traction as it did in 2016-2019. IMO, the steady ~20 year leftward movement of the party probably just ended. People who thought Kamala Harris wasn’t liberal enough for them aren’t going to like what I think is likely to happen next. The next Democratic president is more likely to be the new Bill Clinton than the new FDR.
Senate is gop now. They will start to jam through more judges.

That’s what worries me. The RWNJs on a predominantly RW message board I look in on from time to time, are strutting around, cock-of-the-rock (remember, it’s a message board, so I’m speaking figuratively), talking about how they can now stick it to the libs.
Problem is, the “libs” and moderates are unlikely to bow down to the mighty Trump and the GOP, much less its minions, such as those Joe and Jane Ordinary RWNJs on that message board. I know that my friends and relatives in the US won’t, anyway.
