President Musk’s transition team has a lot of work to do.
Sorry, wrong thread
How long before this Executive Order comes down:
Schoolchildren must recite this every day:
I pledge allegiance to Donald Trump and to the republic which he rules.
One nation, under Trump, unless those Marxist Commie bastards get in the way,
In which case, we’re allowed to gun them down.
With liberty and justice for the rich, and the rest of you can go to hell.
The whole world is going to get what we never asked for. And good and hard too.
Hell, I’ve put in my “Love Boat” DVDs.
He is saying he is going to improve the economy. I thought he said the whole point was to completely crash the economy so we can rebuild it from scratch. That’s what Musk said.
What bothers me most is that I have lost my faith in humanity. I always felt that people were basically good at heart. I thought we had learned from the dictators of WWII. I thought people meant it when they said never again. I really didn’t think that there were so many racist, sexist and xenophobic people in this country.
I am hurting so much for the people of Palestine and the Ukraine. I am hurting for the decent people who will be targeted for daring to criticize the leader. I am hurting for the journalists who will also be targeted.
He still looks bad. He is still telling the same stories over and over again.
I don’t feel bad for those who voted for him. They support his policies and they deserve all of them. Sorry, but I can’t do it. I still feel for those who will die from lack of health care. I feel for the children who won’t have clean air or clean water.
I am interested in seeing if he actually has any plans at all. I feel lucky as a small business owner. I will likely benefit from any tax breaks. I can weather increased prices. I will be eligible for Medicare in a few years and I have no doubt that it will not be significantly changed. It is just too popular. I don’t have children to worry about the future. I’ll be as OK as anybody else could be.
The fucker has a concept of a plan. The fuckers who voted for him knew that and voted for him any. They won’t be the first to be hurt but when the leopards eat their faces I won’t have one iota of pity but whole boatloads of schadenfreude.
I’m done for the night. I’m gonna go start a new game of X-Com, where I can shoot fascist monsters in the face instead of just saying mean things about them online.
[quote]Republicans appear to be losing their wariness of early voting. In 2020, they made up 30.5% of the total early votes cast in the 20 states that track party registration, versus 44.8% for Democrats. That was due, in part, to Trump’s warning that mail voting was rife with corruption.
The former president is singing a different tune this year, and so far Republicans are too. They represent 36.1% of early votes cast across the country, while Democrats represent 38.9% (the remaining quarter has come from voters not affiliated with any party or who have registered with a third party).
That’s important because it means a “red mirage” effect may be less pronounced. Republicans took an early lead four years ago in places like Pennsylvania because election-day in-person votes were counted before poll workers tallied the early ballots, which leaned in support of Democrats.

Not as a sane, normal-thinking person would understand them. His brain, such as it is, simply doesn’t work that way. He’s constitutionally incapable of looking beyond the next ego-boosting dopamine hit.
But the minions he will be bringing with him … they definitely have plans.
(Aside: my pipe is now fully broken in, and my whiskey bottle is getting low.)
Israel PM Netanyahu and France President Macron have both X’d (formerly Tweeted) congratulations to President Trump. Looks like the world is adjusting to his victory.
Looking at the number of votes cast, the single biggest factor appears to me to be, tens of millions of people who voted last time stayed home. That’s something that needs to be analyzed.
For what? Trump seemed to want to make sure that voting in the future wouldn’t be a thing, and I believe him. If people didn’t come out and vote for her for some stupid reason, screw ‘em. They’re in for hard times and I hope they get them.
I live in PA. Used to love it. After this….I dunno.
Personally, I think it was because she is a woman. I worked with a woman who often said that a woman c never be president because of hormones doncha’ know. That’s one person, but I know many men would never vote for a woman either.
These people will get a big surprise when that idiot and his cronies run the economy ( both domestic and foreign into the ground.
Anyone who voted for him, didn’t vote, went third party, wrote in something stupid is a traitorous moron.
I hope that idiot croaks and takes all hi flunkies with him.
I agree. The racism is a factor but the sexism is determinative. The U.S. in its current form will never elect a woman president. Or at least not in the lifetime of my children.
I predict that Trump will win.
The votes aren’t anywhere near being completely counted. The largest state is extremely slow at counting votes, for one thing. And the states that are nearly finished seem to be pretty close to their 2020 totals. In Pennsylvania, Trump+Biden got 6.8 million votes in 2020, and Trump+Harris are currently at 6.6 million votes with probably a little more left to come. 2020 was the highest turnout election in over a century by some measurements, so falling slightly short of that isn’t really surprising.
I have a lot of words for this that don’t belong here. But I will refrain.
Ok, so Whatisname won. What do we do next? I don’t like sitting here feeling miserable.
Only a few old timers will get the gallows humor. If anyone remembers me.
