This seems the best place to put it - The State Department has sanctioned Russia for the 2020 disinformation campaign:
Since at least 2019, Derkach and his associates have leveraged U.S. media, U.S.-based social media platforms, and influential U.S. persons to spread misleading and unsubstantiated allegations that current and former U.S. officials engaged in corruption, money laundering, and unlawful political influence in Ukraine.
And if I read another article correctly - these are specifically the people working with Rudy.
I pretty much just forwarding https://www.democracydocket.com/ (well, it may take a little work to find the actual PDF, but it is mostly there somewhere)
Yup, and I also appreciate the mod(s) who has been updating the thread title as this shit drags out. I hope we can have a ceremonial closing of the thread on the 20th.
The other guys jest, (and I lol) but for the record:
Clarence Darrow’s (of the Scopes trial fame) from his 1932 work The Story of My Life:
All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.
And yes, my themed dead pool for this year is that subject: “obituary notices that I will read with great satisfaction” if you are curious. But I did not have the GOP donor on that list.
Ran out of edit, I wanted to add that how sad it was that a philanthropist that looked to end up having a good legacy soiled it almost completely by supporting a rat like Trump.
Yes, a very, very “specialized” kind of philanthropist. Also a very regressive type of Republican backer. He supported Newt Gingrich over Mitt Romney in 2012, and went all-out for Trump in 2016. It was like, find the worst possible candidate, and there would be ol’ man Adelson with his moneybags.
I heard today that Adelson kept Gingrich’s presidential bid on life support, strictly because Gingrich supported moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Talk about a single-issue voter…
