Election predictions

I agree. I also think this election will be the final long-overdue nail in the coffin of the electoral college.

According to the radio a few minutes ago, Nader’s appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court to get on the ballot was denied.

And thus the votemaster smote Ralph Nader. The large majority of nader’s 3% goes into the Kerry column giving us:

Kerry: 50%
Bush: 44%

  1. I think Bush. Kerry has the support he has based on hatred for Bush, and extreme emotions of that calibre are not likely to be stoked up at this point (indeed, they’re liable to cool).

  2. I think it’s going to be very clear who wins. One friend is convinced Bush will win by ten percent… I think it’d be just shy of five.

All doomsday “Bush Will Steal Election” predictions - essentially repeats of fears from 2000 - have failed to pan out so far. I fail to see how the Loony Bin’s style of reverse fearmongering can come to light.

I think it’s too close to call.
I think we won’t know the actual results until the next day.
I think there will be litigation no matter what happens.

I hope that young people come out in droves.
I hope that the people who would vote for Nader vote for Kerry instead.
I hope the vote isn’t rigged already…

So how do you explain the news reports of actual incidents?

Thank god. For a while there, there was a real danger that some people might get to vote the way they actually wanted to vote.

Bush in a walkover.

Based entirely on the drugs I take and a show on the news a day or two ago that said something like 58% of the money being bet in Europe on the election is on him.

But I’m still going to vote for Nader, fuck those two smucks they are both an embarassment,

  1. Kerry in the EC; dunno about the popular vote. I suspect the key states will be Minnesota and Florida (again). I am guessing that both will go Kerry. If not, than Bush wins. If these won’t be the key states, then you can all point out after the election all the egg on my face.

  2. It’ll all depend on how close Florida is. My guess is there won’t be a major legal battle after the election like 2000.
