Elections Don't Exist

IANAtomndebb, but: the board rules have generally been interpreted that someone can be a racist, and can voice racist ideas, and can honestly argue for them forcefully and relentlessly but they cannot troll and they cannot use what the board defines as hate speech. So “Jews are genetically evil and control the world and are out to get us and I’m sure that at least one is hiding under my bed right now.” isn’t actionable. “Jews are genetically evil and control the world and are out to get us and I’m sure that at least one is hiding under my bed right now, and oh yeah they’re kykes.” would be actionable. IIRC.

The OP here seems sincere in his paranoid, lunatic idiocy. And even though his stupidity approximates trolling, personally I’d vote that he was just conceived with a defective sperm rather than that he’s purposefully trying to get a rise out of folks. YMMV.

Sincerely presenting one’s beliefs does not preclude one from purposefully trying to get a rise out of folks.

True. But in this case I’d vote for obnoxious, mentally-defective racist and not troll. FWIW.

Ask the BBQ Pit Mods.

Didn’t know each forum had its own.

How long have you been here?

At any rate, FinnAgain’s post hits the nail on the head. Being openly prejudiced is not, in and of itself, against the rules. Using racial slurs, or openly advocating for genocide, will trip the “No Hate Speech” rule and draw a warning.

I am very interested in your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I didn’t even know how to spell that racial slur.
I thought it was with an ‘i’ not a ‘y’.
Of course, I’m just a ignorant <insert racial slur referring to a person of northern European decent here>.

Strange women in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!

I find, in the end, that there is no essential difference.

Well, at least they’re not Jewish!

Eh?

You know somethin’ else I don’t?

Thank you - that was very helpful. It also irresistibly makes me think of the original authors of the Talmud as a community of fan-like thinkers, hammering out the meaning of the rules of the Torah through arguments and hypotheticals, like Star Trek/Buffy/B5/BSG fans do on the Internet today.

This plays into my theory that a religion is just a fandom that’s been around for a really long time.

Kinda. What you have to understand is that Judaism essentially has twin traditions, that of the Tanakh itself and that of a companion, built up over centuries, where scholars debated the application and interpretation of various bits of the law, usually in the context of their times. Think of it sort of like a centuries-long message board debate that noobs can look in on to get an idea of the issues involved in a discussion.

The world’s longest running LARP game.

Now that is an interpretation that makes some sense to me.
“…a centuries-long message board debate”
Thanks, FinnAgain!

Maybe Whedon could give it a re-write, throw in some oddly deep off-the-cuff conversations, a lot of cliff hangers, and some seriously hot but quirky women.

I think he’s gone.

Oh well, his amusement value has dried up.

Might as well lock up, Mods.

He’s only been gone 3 days. Too early for the stink to get that bad. (And Lute, I did google and found the “other board” he posted at, which seems to be a site specializing in conspiracy theories. There are a lot of deeply weird, sad, dumb people out there. Like, whoa.)

It is pretty “dumb” to think that the common citizen affect the outcome of a political policy that runs on big money and big money alone.

The truth is disturbing enough but I take refuge in the fact that I am not a brainwashed coward.

As for the frequency of my visits, I do have a life (outside of trying to un-brainwash weak-minded fools).

In other words… “Let’s lock up this thread so that we don’t have to listen to how foolish we are for believing in the fairytale of American elections. I am a coward and I can’t take the truth. I prefer to continue trusting in fake elections, phony ‘candidates’ and trusting in a system that is fueled by a genocidal military run by the big banks.”
