You thought I was going to point you to a newspaper report, right? No, I don’t think it’s been done, but I wonder why not. They have electronic scoring for bowling, and lots of semi-electronic boardwalk amusements like Whack-A-Mole.
What could you do to make miniature golf more high tech?
I suppose make it more like a giant pinball game. Power bumpers, clanging bells, obstacles that look less like windmills and more like Mario Brother’s barrels and balance beams. Timed gusts of wind to nudge your ball off course, unless you can figure how to play it.
And count strokes with sensors in the clubs.
Sensors in the clubs might work, but why not just put them in the ball, with a bluetooth chipset that could relay the scores to a central tracking computer, and then display them on a screen over whichever hole you’re currently on?
Forget the clubs and go with Life Size Pinball. This would be a carnival hit. Instead of a pull for shooting the ball, you could hit something with a mallet, like those vertical bell things.
And then run around to work the flippers manually.
That was my first thought too.
An aside perhaps a follow-up: are these forums missing out on anything interesting or useful since we cannot find WII via search? It is rumored to be because search won’t work for just three letters. Is WII missing out on something intersting or useful since we cannot find it here via search (- or at least could not a few months ago)?
Candystand.com has a pretty nice miniature golf game.
Wii ? Computer games? What a bunch of slouches. Get some fresh air, you’re starting to resemble lumps of mashed potatoes.
