Wii golf games

The Mrs. and I, being Junior Old Farts, are enjoying our sedentary lifestyle, enhanced by the Wii gaming system.

We both very much enjoy the golf game that came with the system on the WiiSports disc, but we’re quite bored with the limited selection of holes on the course.

I did pick up a “Tiger Woods PGA” Wii golf game, but the damn thing is so complex and intricate and involved that neither of us enjoys it.

Is there a Wii golf game out there, more similar in complexity to the one on the Wiisports disc, but with a wider selection of holes and courses?

We wouldn’t mind a golf game that has a bit more finesse than the WiiSports one, as long as it’s not so outrageously complex as to make us throw our Wiimotes at the screen in frustration.

… It’s outside in my car. Want it? I forget the name, it’s got cartoony people, very good reviews, but my parents wanted Tiger Woods instead, so I was going to trade it in. Starts with an S, I think.

I could mail it Wednesday. Call it a senseless act of kindness.

I’ll gladly send your our Tiger Woods Wii game for it!

With the Tiger Woods game you can just pick quick play with preset characters and it is a lot less involved. You might give it another shot.

Nah, got one for ten bucks, which is why I never traded the other one in. PM me your address.

Done!

Tried that, we still get frustrated.

Super Swing Golf, by any chance?

If so, it’s a fun game (at least the first one is, haven’t played the sequel yet) and not too complicated, but it is a little strange. You’re not really playing golf, you’re participating in a festival on a fantasy world commemorating the victory of good over evil. You see, evil built some sort of invincible wall with only a small hole for access, while the forces of good concentrated their power into a little ball of energy that, if sent through the hole, would destroy evil. But the ball was so powerful, nobody could pick it up, they had to create a club that they used to hit the ball into the hole.

If it’s 2009, I’ll give you money for it.

BTW, if you want a fun game the whole family can enjoy, get “Boom Blox.” Loving it right now.

That’s the one, Super Swing Golf. Fun game, but the parentals don’t want to be playing cartoons. (I’m just amazed they touch the Wii at all.)

Just FYI - there’s going to be a new Tiger Woods game soon that will be packaged with the new wiimote dongle that will apparently increase the controller sensitivity. Anticipation appears to run pretty high for this in the gaming community. Not sure when the release date is.
