Yep, THAT Elizabeth Smart whose kidnapping and return home in the early 00s made worldwide headlines is now a 38-year-old wife and mother of three - and a competitive female bodybuilder.
She’s had more second chances than most of us could ever imagine, so I’m just going to say “Go for it!”.
She’s… significantly taller than i expected. I guess I only saw her as a teenager when she was freed. Good for her, whatever lets her take control of her life back.
She also competed on Masked Dancer five years ago.
I was proud of the fact that when my wife and I watched the show, I figured out exactly who she was when she revealed a clue with letters “EAS”, and recognized them as her initials (which when combined with other clues she’d given, finally clicked for me).
So, I guess she has been doing athletic competitions of one sort or another for a while now, which I agree is pretty cool.
Good for her! Bodybuilders often have experienced some type of trauma, taking control of their own bodies to help deal with loss of control in other areas. Obviously not all bodybuilders have this motivation, but it’s not all that surprising.
For those who haven’t looked at the photos, she’s competing in a very “mild” level of bodybuilding. I think the competition is called Fit Model, not a lot of muscle on display but certainly a lot of discipline and effort is required.
How tall did you think she was? According to Google, she’s 5’6” which is certainly in line with the average height range.
No idea how tall she is, but I saw this article after googling her when i read the OP and she towers over all the other body builders. If she is 5’6 those other girls don’t break 5 feet.
