Elizabeth Threatt - Actress

Dear Knowledgeable Cohorts.

I am ardently seeking any information on the actress Elizabeth Threatt. I have found a few items about her in searches, but nothing more recent than ~1952.

In 1952, she starred in the movie “The Big Sky” with Kirk Douglas and Dewey Martin. That was her only film, and beyond that, there seems to be no info.

Go ahead, surprise me with your knowledge!

May you never have a bad day,

Prospector

American actress who made an impression in her only film. The daughter of an English father and a Cherokee mother, Threatt grew up in South Carolina. At 19, she went to New York and began a successful modeling career. In 1952, director Howard Hawks saw her photograph and cast her as the Blackfoot princess Teal Eye in his acclaimed frontier film Big Sky, The (1952). Although she was a notable part of this successful film, Threatt left the picture business and never acted again.

I knew her as Betty. She and my Mom were great friends. We attended the same church and I always enjoyed our talks. Even until the end she had one of the sharpest minds of anyone I ever knew. I was honored to have been asked to be a pall bearer at her funeral. It was a long time before I knew she was a movie star. She was so humble and gracious person I have ever known! Not sure what kind of info you are looking for, but if I can be of any help just let me know.

Trytan, thanks for the info. But the OP hasn’t posted here since 2003, so I doubt he’s still interested.
