Elizabeth Warren is running for the Senate

I was closer than the official results. Discounting the stolen election in Ohio, the totals were Kerry 271, Bush 266, Edwards 1.

Bob, the moral of the story is apparently that you have been wrong once so you’re never going to be able to make another prediction. Just like Karl Rove.

-Joe

If Ohio was stolen in 2004, then it is beyond doubt Jack Kennedy stole Illinois and maybe Texas in 1960.

Two point difference and you’re talking as if its a landslide in one of the most liberal states. As others have noted when new candidates enter a race they do get a strong boost-look at Palin for example-until they fall apart under closer examination.

You really don’t understand that the posters were talking about the 9 point difference like it was important and implied it was insurmountable. Now it not only disappeared but Scott is now 2 down. The change is 11 .Pick up your eyes. It was the rightys speaking of landslide.
I suppose the change came because people looked at her and liked her policies. Warren is hard for a reasonable person to dislike. She actually fights for consumers to be informed . She wants to simplify contracts so the bankers can not steal from us.

Well I’m not denying the race now is quite close. But its not going to be a landslide by current numbers. For all we know of course Scott Brown could be caught summoning Satan and the ghost of Hitler on the day before the election and lose 99% to 1%.

The problem here is that you’ve got probably the best politicians in America running against each other in this race, hence the close numbers. Were the Democrat a hack like Coakley, the numbers would be different,.

…and if we had some ham we could make ham and eggs, if we had eggs.

The only reason Brown is in the office in the first place is the clusterfuck campaign that Coakley ran. She made John McCain’s 2008 sleepwalk look brilliant by comparison. You don’t show as much ignorance about the Red Sox as she did and win any campaign- they don’t even let babies home from the hospital there unless the parents have Red Sox apparel for them. Now you’ve got a guy running for the Senate as a Republican against a popular Democrat in one of the bluest states of all after two+ years of Republicans demonstrating that they have no interest in governing unless they get to dictate every law with no negotiations with Democrats. Call me crazy, but that doesn’t look like a good sign for Brown.

She was brilliant on Morning Jo(k)e this morning! The Foxoids are so afraid of her they were mashing buttons like a noob who just bought a lvl 85 orc warrior tank on eBay…

This video has sealed my everlasting love of Elizabeth Warren. It’s almost enough to make me quit my job and move to MA just so I can vote for her.

God I hope she wins.

She’s saying everything I hoped Obama would say on the economy and she’s doing it beautifully.

Someone on Reddit explained my love for Warren more eloquently:

The reason for Elizabeth Warren’s newfound internet stardom is simple. She was able to articulate – in a few words – what the Democratic Party has been unable to communicate for years.

I believe she articulates the progressive ideal very well. That being said, here is a thorough dismantling of her positions: http://mises.org/daily/5699/Elizabeth-Warrens-Blank-Check

Oh, yeah…a Ludwig Von Mises fanwank site. I’m sure getting my economic information from THAT!

I’m sorry, you appear to have posted the wrong link. The through dismantling you promised is instead a bunch of nonsense and ideological woo. I like specifically:

So he compares her argument that the Rich Dude owes his success to the collaborative effort of the country, to the Soviet Worker’s owing their bread to the collaborative effort of the government. He’s comparing the American Rich Dude to the Soviet Proletariat, and the American Government to the Soviet Union. To spell it out, he’s saying that the 1 or so percent of Rich Dudes are the 99 or so percent of Soviet Workers being abused. Subtle, that.

It sounds good if you don’t think about it, but it’s nonsense.

Yeah they lost me on that part but the core of the argument stands. The Rich Dude pays his share to society in that he fills a particular need for society. Otherwise he wouldn’t be rich because society would not bestow their collective wealth on him. Where the problem lies is with government getting involved giving favors to certain Rich Dudes.

Like tax breaks?

Yes.

I believe in an equal playing field. Taxes are inherently pernicious, but to favor larger firms like GE is just plain wrong. This is a common ground between progressives and libertarians that should be cultivated to curtail crony capitalism (quasi legalized corruption)

It seems the MA GOP is throwing in their support behind Warren with their latest ad.

Well it’s supposed to be an attack ad, I think, but it makes me want to vote for her not against her.
