Elusive Kalifornia Koozies

I was in CA recently, and was looking to pick up some of the basic souvenir fare: t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, koozies.

Didn’t find any koozies–anywhere?

Most places I’ve been, they’re pretty common. You can find them in just about any convenience store. Many restaurants have them with their logos emblazoned up on them.

So what is it with CA and koozies? Ya just don’t need 'em or what?

(For those of you who aren’t familiar with them–and I ain’t too sure about the spelling–they’re those foamy can/bottle holders. Don’t know if they have different names in other parts of the country.)

Koozies were outlawed in California under the “Abolishment of White Trash” act of 1984.

So why hasn’t my neighbor been arrested?
