Actually several people have noticed this, both in this thread and the original one, and I quite agree; even if the mother of the President were someone we should be paying attention to, this quote is hardly worth commenting on. Nonetheless, it’s quite amusing to watch milroyj climb ever further out on to this ludicrous branch he’s chosen. Apparently, if something isn’t freely available on the internet on a site that milroyj doesn’t deem unacceptable (not lefty blogs like the International Herald Tribune), it’s not a cite. Who knew?

There’s only been a brouhaha over milroyj’s quote, which he attributed to **ElvisL1ves **but which was apparently originated here at the SDMB by Guinistasia, since I brought it up.

She said what she said, and she meant what she meant. It’s perfectly obvious from the interview you posted for us again, that she did not say or imply what the quote in the OP (from Guinistasia, apparently) attributed to her.

Even if I paid for the transcript, I would bet that I couldn’t post a link to it from the SDMB (kinda defeats the purpose of charging a fee, eh?). So then, I would say “it’s there… the second-hand sources are correct.” Of course, milroyj’s argument (et al.) wouldn’t change, simply because they don’t want to pony up the $30.
If you want a primary source, then you’re going to have to cough up the damn money. If you’re not willing to pay the fee, then stop bitching about no one putting up a cite.
Otherwise, take the second-hand source, and put a cork in it.
