Email Addresses

I’m hoping that someone here can help me with this. I would like to register an email address (myname@mydomain.com). I don’t have a web domain name registered, and if I can avoid it at this time i’d like to. Is there a place where I can go to register an email address at the domain of my choice?

You can visit Mail.com, which offers a variety of domain names. I believe they have many for free, but I recall they had more options of how you could route your mail as well, and do mail hosting, which would probably solve problems with getting a domain name, but not register a web domain.

Yahoo will do this for $35/year

There are cheaper places.

I’m using NameZero, and I’m very happy with it. It gives me an actual domain registration, forwarding to my free website on Geocities, and an unlimited number of mailboxes at my domain name.

They have both a POP3 and web-based access, so I can get mail at home with Outlook Express, and also by going to my site.

I should add NameZero is $19.95/year

There is no such thing as a “web domain.” A domain name is a domain name. Any company that provides web hosting solutions will also provide email servers for your domain. Shop around a bit and see what’s cheapest/has the features you want.

You could try zzn. You can have your own email service (others can sign up for it too if they wish), providing you’re willing to have ‘zzn’ as part of the URL.

So you could have: http://www.athorita.znn.com with your email being something@athorita.zzn.com. Not perfect, but it’s not bad for free. That’s the place I registered b@dassmofo.zzn.com
