email problems

My brother-in-law is unable to send me emails using the address at which I get dozens of emails from others.

He never receives an “undeliverable” return message so he is sending it to my valid address. We confirmed that just now by telephone. He and I were on the phone and our computers. He sent a message that I didn’t receive. I sent him a message and he used the reply function and I didn’t receive that either.

he is on @centurytel.net and I am on @yahoo.com

He is going to go to a different computer tomorrow to try sending from it. In the meantime, anyone have any ideas?

Does centurytel.net have any kind of a webmail-type website? If so, he could log into his e-mail from there and try to send you a message. If it goes through, then it’s most likely a computer issue.

Can he send e-mails to other people without problems?

Yes, he sends email to others.

I don’t know if century has a webmale site. But he will try sending from a different computer and I’ll tell him about the webmail possibility. Will webmail show up as a button on his screen?

Did you check your Yahoo Junk folder?

It’s not there. I have Spamguard on and I suppose it is possible that when I deleted one of his emails I mistakenly marked it as spam. I can check that by turning Spamguard off and having him send a message.

If that’s the case, I haven’y figured out how to get in touch with Yahoo! to correct it.

Thanks for the clue Zipper JJ. I got off my dead ass and looked in Yahoo! email options. There, before my very eyes when I clicked on Spamguard was a list of blocked email addresses. Needless to say my brother-in-laws was among them so I unblocked it.

As a Web host, it is really nice to hear that is the answer. I love it when I say “check the spam box” and the email’s there. Cuz if it’s not…well we’ve got a whole mess of other tests to run

So…yay!
