Has anyone else noticed that the e-mail notification still sends multiple messages per thread?
My understanding was that you should get ONE message when someone replies to a post, then no more until you re-visit the thread (or even until you reply again).
My mailbox is rapidly filling up with SDMB messages, as I’m getting one generated by every person who responds to my posts…
Well, if you look at it in the Control Panel, what it actually says is:
So, yeah, if you have this turned on, then every time someone posts to a thread that you posted in, you get an e-mail notifying you that someone has posted to that thread. It doesn’t have anything to do with people “replying” only to your posts, specifically. It’s any time someone “replies” (“posts”) to that thread.
You can e-mail the moderator of the forum, and ask nicely (hint: beg and grovel) and he will turn off the e-mail notification for a particular thread.
