Emiliana Torrini should switch places with Bjork

I always thought that Bjork should do more songs like Birthday where she exploits her immense vocal talents to the maximum instead of being all experimental and weird. Then I heard Emiliana Torrini who sounds like a Bjork that did take this more poppy route (which isn’t all that unusual considering that she’s half-Icelandic and is/was on the same label.)

But I always thought that Bjork could do that better than Emiliana could.

Then I was searching online for an Emiliana album and could not find it, but instead found an album that contains most of those songs, plus some remixes…and a song called Weird Friendless Kid. Which sounds like more experimental Bjork stuff, i.e. weird beat changes and random screaming. And it was good.

So basically what I’m saying is they should trade bodies and do each other’s music from now on.

tangential - If I recall, for the Lord of the Rings movies, Director Peter Jackson wanted Bjork to record one of the movies’ songs. She wasn’t available so Torrinni wound up singing “Gollum’s Song” at the end of 'The Two Towers"

I was going to mention that song but I couldn’t decide if it was weird enough or not. The delivery is pretty straightforward (for their style of singing that is,) but the subject matter is of course out there. So I guess either one of them could have done it.
