Enemy squirrels

Briefly, I have a very small crawlspace between a room in my house and the roof. There are squirrels in there, which I’m trying to drive out with not much luck. I’ve located their site of entry/exit and have mostly closed it up with some sheet metal, leaving only a hole open from which I’m hoping the squirrels to be driven out.

After trying a few methods to drive them out – and there could be squirrel babies in there for all I know, the space is so small I can’t see very well in there. I saw this strobe light device, however, I’m not about to drop $250, and the thing is WAY too large to fit in the tiny space.

I’m thinking about getting one of these portable strobe lights, throwing it in the tiny space, and hoping it will work. Is there any reason to think a $20 strobe light won’t do the job of a $250 one?

Also, if anyone has any other ideas, I’m open to suggestions. I thought about trying to trap and release the squirrels, but there’s no way to fit a trap in the crawlspace (opening is too small). I’ve tried mothballs, but that hasn’t worked. Banging around and making noise seems to paralyze them with fear. Any help would be appreciated!
