You seem to be saying that Latin has a bunch of rules and idioms (what is the name of the official rulebook, by the way?) and the success of the Empire made it have non-mutually-intelligible dialects, whereas English, which you are touting as the new Latin with all the same stuff including idioms and “we” (the Empire?) making it a world “lingo franca”, does not have dialects?

I’d say Les rires de l’auditoire l’ont forcé à quitter la scène or Il a dû quitter la scène à cause des rires de l’auditoire but as you say it doesn’t have the biting conciseness of the original, and it doesn’t even sound really idiomatic in French.

By the way, your translation was good. There were just a couple of typos (Il est sorti de scène à cause du rire de l’auditoire) but it works. Well, as much as it is possible to translate this type of structures.
