English Mustard: what's the ratio of water to mustard powder? (yes, need answer fast)

I’m making a recipe that calls for three tablespoons of freshly prepared English mustard.

I’ve got Keen’s mustard powder, but don’t know what the ratio of water to powder is?

(Need answer before Mrs Piper comes home for supper!)

It’s about 1:1 for Coleman’s, so I’ll guess it’s the same for Keen’s. It’s best to add the water in small amounts whilst mixing up to the ratio, so you don’t end up with something too liquid.

Not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for, but this everything2 page describes a 1:1 ratio with vinegar, sugar and salt added to taste.

great - thanks!

It worked! thanks - Gubbins sauce was nice’n’hot!
