I need the Japanese translation of “I love books.”
Babelfish gave me this:
私は本を愛する。
Is that accurate? Better translation?

(Watashi wa) hon ga dai-suki desu.
私は本が大好きです。
Hibernicus-- Thanks, by the way! That was helpful.
If it’s obvious from the context that you are the subject of the sentence, then in Japanese you can drop the “Watashi wa”.
Yeah, unless you had a prior subject, you want to go with just 本が大好きです。 (Hon ga daisuki desu.)
ETA:
In case you were curious, the Babel Fish sentence was Watashi wa hon o ai suru, which is “love” more in the sense of romantic love. *Suki *is “like” and *daisuki *is “like a lot.”
