Overall not bad. Definately a good Tripp episode.
Archer, showing the enemy how weak your position is? At least alter the tour to go through hallways that aren’t junked.
Anyone here a Family Guy fan? The guy Tripp yelled at about the fracture in the magnesium thingy was Seth Macfarlane.
I would have liked it more without Archer. :wally Why does he always have to sound harsh when he ought to be more compassionate? e.g., when he wants Trip to write the letter and barks at him: “It doesn’t have to be long!” He could have said it more gently. Same thing later when Archer tells him “Stand by, Trip” as if he’s pissed at him. And again when he tells Trip to stop railing at Degra.
Yes, I know he’s stressed out and under pressure and all, but come on. And Trip just takes it. I’d love to see him just blow up at Archer and not take any more of his crap.
Other comments, positive and negative:
No mention of Cutler? Still?? Kelly Waymire’s been dead since last November and they still can’t even put up a little dedication at the end of the episode?
Squirmy fidgety T’Pol in Sickbay almost made me giggle.
Grammar glitch! Archer says, “There’s some things I want to know first.”
There ARE, dammit. There ARE some things!!!
C.T was great all around, weary, sad, angry, grieving, and without going over the top. He really is the best actor on the show except for Porthos.
Why didn’t the JGGGG (Jolly Green Giant Gushing Geyser) show up on someone’s console earlier? Too much damage? I may have missed something. I’ll go back and look.
The actress playing Taylor did a good job for the short time she was there.
Why does Trip always back down? (Rage Against the Archer!) He ought to let the bastard have it one of these days.
CT and Blalock did a nice job in their last scene in the ep.
<Sigh> I’m really trying to like the show, but the writing is just so annoying! But Trip making me cry was worth the watch.
So how long will it be before the Xindi and Enterprise join forces and start blowing up spheres?
Also, at this point, if they cancel the series, I don’t think it would be all that bad if they blow up Enterprise. Everyone dies except Hoshi, Mayweather and Porthos who slowly make their way back to Earth, conveniently forgetting all the ways this series has violated canon along the way.
I’m so glad that I remembered to tape the episode last night, because I put my head down on my pillow just as it was coming on, and promptly fell asleep! So I didn’t get to see the episode until 11:30 last night, and then it was really too late to try to log online and comment on it.
Anyhow, all I can really do is echo what others have already posted: Bermaga is trying to stick a fork in “Enterprise” (i.e., they’ve ruint it); the writing -sucks- for the most part; Archer sucks (even though I <3 Bakula); but Tripp shined last night, so there was at least a glimmer of something good.
Canon ST, as I have known it, appears to have gone right out the window–that in itself is one of the most distressing (to me) aspects of the Enterprise show. It wouldn’t have been so bad, except that they decided to go -back- and do a pre-quel show–something set before TOS. If you’re going to do that, then you need to follow the history set up in TOS as closely as possible… IMHO. Not completely ignore it and throw it out the window! GAH!
That being said, I am looking forward to next week’s episode, in which we see “possibilities” for the “future.”
Oh yeah, and even though I think it sucks that T’Pol has now unleashed her emotions (most un-Vulcan!), I still love the Vulcan and think JB is doing a great job playing her.
Einsteinian Relativistic Mechanics mathematically describes how, as an object approaches the speed of light, to a stationary observer mass and size increase while the names of capitol ships contract.
Oh My! Where to start?! I know … right with the very first episode- “Broken Bow,” complete with Klingon, who we’ve seen further, including Archer on trial in a Klingon court. In TOS, the Klingons looked quite different and they were unknown to the Federation. The technology plays at a higher level as well; granted TOS came out of the 1960s and as such is a product of 60s-era technology, but Bermaga knew this when they decided to do a prequel. I’ll admit that there has been some attention to details in certain areas, but in other areas they have blown canon all to pieces. You don’t want to get me started on the time-travel stuff now, do ya? I guess we should be grateful that they haven’t encountered the Romulans … yet.
Anyone else is free to chime in w/violations of canon, btw. Please?
He’s T’Pol’s CO, too, but she has challenged him on numerous occasions. Trip is still much too devoted to the jerk. He just can’t seem to see Archer’s flaws, no matter what.
