Someone remind me: Weren’t the Tholians an unknown species in TOS episode, “The Tholian Web”? Is this going to be another event that will have to be wiped from Starfleet’s collective memory in the time between Enterprise and Star Trek?
[Spock]
The renowned Tholian promptness
[/Spock]
Or something like that
Couldn’t be renonwned if they were unknown.
Quite correct. I looked into it, and I’d misremembered.
I think “punctuality” was the word used.
Yes the Tholians seemed to have been known in the TOS universe. The only thing Spock said was that he was “unaware of any claim on this space” making it sound similar to the Gorn who were unknown and making a claim on the Federation colony they attacked… (Yeah you’d better be careful on that creators we are watching!!!) But as stated before Spock mentions the reknowned Tholian Punctuality.
I’m still waiting for other starfleet ships to be seen.
How long is the estimate before they begin and botch the Earth Romulan war?
Evidently, I didn’t get the appropriate decon gel over every inch of my surface. Brain breaking down. Feels like combination of Romulan ale hangover and lingering residue of Tylenol PM. Porthos = the original cheese-eating surrender monkey! Er, beagle. Bugle. Does not compute!

Speaking of Romulans, how much have they factored into Enterprise so far? I didn’t even know they had showed up yet until I bought the most recent Star Trek: The Magazine and found a sweet little pull out poster of the Romulan Bird of Prey.
I love me some Romulans.
They showed up once this season–well, they weren’t seen but they were heard. And much earlier, in the 2nd season premiere, Archer started to pull a book off a shelf about the Romulan Star Empire and then Daniels told him not to read it.
That’s all, so far.
A book? Huh? So they’re already well known enough to have a publication based on them? Ack.
Did they try to blow up the Enterprise? Beam Hoshi’s clothes off? Anything cool like that?
No, the book was on that wasteland of a planet in “Shockwave, part 2” when they were 30 or so centuries in the future.
Well, yes, they did have quite a few Romulan mines to deal with. The episode was aired back in October and it was called “Minefield.”
It was a book from the future. An alternate timeline future, no less, in which books were still used.
I guess I could’ve looked that up myself, huh? Sorry.
Thanks though… I appreciate it. A pox on UPN!
No apologies. I will look up all kinds of weird stuff on the Web on any topic even without being asked.
Much of the “assistance” I render to others is quite unsolicited.

To wit: Some Trekkish folk have waaaaaaayyyy too much time on their hands:
Oh, dear, oh, dear, viva. Those poor Trekkies/-ers. They sure are pathetic, aren’t they? they probably go to message boards to nitpick and consult one another on the fine points of each week’s episode. HAHAHAHAHA! Whatta buncha losers.
Oh… wait a second…
Kn(JEEZ, I’m sleepy. No more staying up until midnight for me on a work night!)ckers
P.S.: Happy Valentines Day. I love you all.
{{{Wacky Trek Dopers}}} XXOO
Bacachoo, K*girl, and others.
Trek Dopers, help!
I’ve got a small problem. (No, Viva, not that
)
I will be out of town on one of those Get It Done Quick ™ remodels that I used to do. Well, still do apparantly. We tend to work 12 to 14 hour days on these things. It will take us 8 to 10 days.
I gave away my good VCR when I got DVD. Because I never time shift, you see. (No Billy Pilgrim jokes!)
When I get back, I should be able to watch Enterprise at my cousin’s place, IF she remembers to record it! She is a she, so you know what that means. (Don’t hurt me, please. What am I saying? Hurt me, please!)
I probably will not get to watch it as it airs, what with the long hours and all.
So, um, will someone write down everything as it happens, complete with backgrounds, expressions, sound effects, imagined smells, and (I guess) the dialogue? Then post it here? Or e-mail it? Actually, I’m looking for a back up tape, in case Cuz forgets. Thanks in advance. I’ll get you something nice.
BTW, I’ll be without The Dope for all that time, too.
But, I need to go, work has really slowed down here. (Note my rapidly increasing post rate.) Sometimes, I’m at home all day, just phoning people and taking calls for hours on end. Nothing like sitting in my home office all day when I want to be building something!
I’ll be in Galesburg, IL. I wonder what that’s like…
Happy Nitpickin’ Hyperanalytical Supercritical Trek-Dopin’ Valentine’s Day to you too, Kn*ckers !
You must be very trusting to click on such a link. For all you knew, it might have been a slashy thing…
Nah, I wouldn’t go that far.
?
Boy Lacking Clue: I have two VCRs and will be happy to make two tapes (one for you in case you need it) and one for my bro.
Are you really gonna trust us to give you an accurate blow by blow?
We could tell you anything, you know.
If you have time to read a 12 page rundown of any of the episodes in excruciating detail, there’s always www.televisionwithoutpity.com.
In lieu of that, I’m sure we can “help.” Heh heh.

[sniff]
That’s why I love The Dope
[sniff]
I feel like I wasn’t a real Trekker til I came here
[sob]
I just loves youse guys!
[sobbity bawloutloud sob]
Actually, now I’m really looking forward to see what spoilers you guys get me with!
A challenge! (Correct for me, please, Viva. Thanx) Post some spoilers just to fool me! And the real discussion, of course. After I view tape, I’ll tell you which ones I bought. You guys are evil, I know you can do it.
On a side bar, did anyone else notice we kept the last spoiler thread running on page 1 til the new ep aired? Wow!
You’re on, NCB.
Well, we’re nearly at a hundred posts in this thread now, and the previous one was well past 100. It could happen again. What a lovely segue it was. (I think it was carni telling me to catch up and then linking me to the newest thread, in fact.)
