I don’t know if B & B will ever address this in Enterprise, but I am damn curious to find out what WW3 and the Post Atomic Horror was all about! I saw the first TNG episode on TNN the other day (Encounter at Farpoint), and I was reminded about how a big chunk of human history in the Star Trek Universe has yet to be explained. Hopefully this will be addressed at some time in the series, as well as who the hell Colonel Greene was! (he appeared briefly in a TOS episode as a projection by aliens who were doing a study on good and evil. He was apparently a very evil person in WW3)
Any thoughts on how this may be introduced in an Enterprise episode without time travel being involved?
Well, Captain Archer could be put on trial for the crimes of humanity by an omnipotent energy-being.
Or, there could be a throwback line, say in an episode where the crew discoversa planet in nuclear winter. There’s some sort of problem that needs to be resolved, and since T’pol seems to know little of Terran histroy, a couple of the human crew need to explain to her the similarities between the planet they’ve found and Earth of the twenty-first century.
Kind of like when Picard went on about the European Hegemony in, heck what episode was that?
I’m thinking that it could be an episode where they meet up with a group of humans who left earth either during or after the war and have no idea that the war has ended.
Or perhaps Colonel Greene escaped with a band of followers and causes mayhem at some remote outpost. The only problem is that this has been done before.
What I want to know is what those drugged up WW3 soldiers with machine handguns (in “Encounter at Farpoint”) were all about!
